Happy in loungewear- for now

Anyone else feeling relieved to be able to be in cozy clothes all day, instead of having to "dress properly?" At least for the time being, the catburglar black just feels restful. I still like my nice things, but am ok with letting them rest for two weeks (or more)!

If you normally work from home, have you changed over time? Started in loungewear but got tired of it and went back to normal-ish clothes or the reverse?

It goes in waves for me. I started in normal clothes, then went to loungewear when I got stuck at my desk for long periods. I do sometimes find when I am in comfy pants and slippers for TOO long of a stretch, I tend to lose motivation and focus with work and start doing more housework-type tasks - feeling the need to clean, etc. Even when I have a strict schedule to follow, my mind will often wander if my body is too comfortable. Those are cues for me to go back to jeans or put on real shoes for a while to help me shift into a more focused mindset.

I’ve been living in gear for long solo walks, and really casual jeans-and-tee or sweatshirt/hoodie outfits for home. Easiest for laundering and more durable for hanging out with the doggies, cooking, etc. And, not proud to admit, it’s nearing 10am and I’m still in my pajamas.

My nice stuff is going unworn. No more buying for me for the foreseeable future. The significance of trends just went completely out the window for me, and I suspect for many others. I’m not bothering with makeup, and using hair styling products very sparingly if at all. No need to waste them when no one but my husband and the dogs will see me!

I definitely feel relieved to avoid makeup!

Since we're confined and the weather is nice, I'm currently living in t-shirts and the flowy palazzo trousers I usually wear during summertime. As of now it has not prevented me from focusing on work, and I do appreciate not having to launder delicate fabrics and items every other day.

Time will tell if I stay happy with those comfy clothes, or if I end up feeling the need to wear a blazer despite working from home!

I find that I need to dress in between normal work and lounge. I was going to go on at length here but I think I may post separately. But basically, I think I am going to wear regular, but more casual clothes (and no tight bottoms) while I work during the day, and my lounge clothes in the evenings. I do have some vcons, which is one reason for this. My apartment is warm, especially in the room where I'm working, so I'm packing away many of my winter clothes for now, too, and have brought out lighter weight tops and bottoms.

I've been wearing a lot more workout wear, so I can do stuff like work in the garden or take a walk intermittently with other less physical activities. I know jeans and a knit tee aren't too fancy for that sort of thing but I always seem to get dirt or sweat on things halfway through the day and then feel like I need to change.

Thanks all! I have been showering and wearing makeup each day, just putting on fresh loungewear. Yes to more durable among the little claws!
I did wear gear leggings yesterday, since I'm biking after the workday is done (gyms are closed).

I live in loungewear til about noon, but lately in the afternoon I get dressed in some nicer casual clothes in the attempt to cheer me and my husband up a little bit. It's ironic that I am dressing up probably more than usual now that we are not going anywhere! I have so many clothes, and I'm done with the "save it for good" attitude...

I've been self-employed/work-at-home for more than a decade so, aside from the lack of weekend outings and my husband and son being home all day with me, my regular routine hasn't changed all that much.

A couple of years ago, during an insanely busy season, I happened on the idea of a WFH uniform that I could don without a lot of thought, was practical, and put me in the work mindset. At the time, it was black ponte pants and an oversized black button-down. I've adjusted over time, and now my WFH uniforms are a jumpsuit and a dress.

It's pretty funny to watch Husband and Son adjust to this new reality. Yesterday, they were both (Son is in college with online classes) in the universal videoconferencing uniform, fully dressed up top, with lounge pants on the bottom.

I'm enjoying the loungewear for now. Hoping for warmer weather so I can transition out of joggers and soft lounge pants into skirts and dresses. (Soft and easy dresses and skirts are totally comfy wear for me, and in the summer I never wear trousers.)

Since the only going outside I'm doing now is going for walks around the neighborhood or the occasional grocery store run, I'm almost exclusively wearing my sneakers and occasionally my super comfortable combat boots. Have to admit that my feet are loving that!

I just wrote a post about this! The five levels of stay at home style.....

I keep it dressy so JUST the same for me, and dress like I usually do for an at home work day - or "no client day". No lounge wear or workout wear, accept for early in the morning when I workout, and when we relax at home at night - from 8pm onwards.

This is me now. Styled, groomed, adorned - and with slippers on my feet

The five levels of stay at home style...now that sounds interesting,l can’t wait.For me personally I enjoy dressing up to go out,like in the good old days when we left the house,remember them?So casual dressing is my norm but I don’t do ultra casual in the day,no pyjamas or lounge wear.Usually I am in work clothes for home chores and then get changed into something neater .l feel better if I have made even a small effort.

My primary work at home rule is that I must be out of pajamas before my first work call. So if it’s a early am start (I am not at all a morning person) I’ll start in loungewear. If not, it’s my work at home sweater and jeans uniform. Although, now that I have customer calls on video, I’m going a step higher adding scarves or jewelry.

I've always worked in business casual environments and have always dressed that way even when I work at home (jeans allowed). Even with the isolation, I am still trying to keep up my appearance (hair and outfit), because that helps me emotionally.

I never wore loungewear, even when I first began working at home. I need to be dressed properly to be able to concentrate and do my work.

You know it’s bad when a trip to the vet with the dog is a major excursion and you dress up to just sit in the car while the vet comes out for the dog and brings her back after her blood pressure test. I wore silver... metallic pants, tee, scarf, and bag plus white snow boots with a bit of silver trim. Q

I did half a half day today... it was office day. I *was* thinking about being clever, then came time to actually dress and it was cold... and then I didn’t see my cowboy boots right off and couldn’t be bothered to go farther into the closet... and then I kept stepping it down until I arrived at brown leopard jeans and combat boots. Lol. But I got a compliment on the boots. Still more exciting than actual production floor wear

I'm only working from home full-time since this week, but I have committed to dressing as if on weekends. That is: casual pieces, but 'real' clothes (not loungewear) and coordinated in the minimal way that marks me when I'm not in try-hard or experimental mode. Even though I thought at first that fashion would be a welcome distraction, I'm just not that interested right now and I'm leaning into my desire for hibernation (whilst remaining in touch over the phone and social media with loved ones of course).

Since working from home tends to leave me cold, I'm in a uniform of jeans/ cargo pants and sweater OR leggings and sweater dress every day. Video calls with co-workers have shown me that this is plenty 'dressed up' - many wear plain sweaters and tees now and the formality of our meetings is such that more often than not kids are running in and out of view. These are extraordinary times after all.

on monday I wore loungewear, and realized that was fine for a one off, but if i was going to get thru this, i was going to need to maintain a work/home balance. so, i am changing every morning into jeans and a sweater, ie what i generally wear to work, then after i "leave" the office, i go for a walk, and then change into lounge clothes. it's giving me focus and shape to my days

I wear wide leg pants plus knit top on cooler days or wide leg shorts plus knit top or tee on warmer days. No shoes in the house. It is a bit lounge wearish. But I do lots of rehab exercises in between working during the day, so I need to be comfortable. I’ve experimented with wearing skirts and dresses at home but generally don’t find them comfortable for my exercises (unless it’s a skort). I wouldn’t say I’m bored with my WFH outfit but I do miss dressing up to go out

Definitely I have Suntiger! My uniform for the last week has been leggings or slim trackpants and an active-friendly t-shirt or top. I've still tried to stay presentable by keeping my hair neat and wearing a touch of makeup. And have changed my nail polish several times as a source of amusement!

Next week I'll resume 'dressing as usual' but this week it felt indulgent and vacation-ish to chill out in comfies.

It has been a quiet week but I did go to the office on three days. Some staff are working from home but currently.

I am grateful to have added two pairs of jeans. I also added these pieces last week ( my tee has long sleeves.

My hair is overdue a cut and colour - everything is operating still - not sure what to do.
