Just wanted to pop in and wish my YLF family happy holidays - however you celebrate

I've had a challenging few months after being diagnosed with endometrial cancer in July and undergoing surgery and radiation, and then suffering a heart attack in late August. Hence my extended absence. But I'm on the mend from everything now, working on getting my strength and energy back, and have returned to work. I'm incredibly thankful to be seeing a new year around the corner and looking forward to getting my style mojo back.

I hope you all enjoy holiday time with family and friends (human and furry) and maybe I'll see y'all around in 2017!

Oh Shannon, I can't believe this, and am SO sorry to hear your news. I'm not a forum participant any more either, but do check out the off-topic section now and then . I think of you often - with us being in the same city, and having met you etc. Health challenges are far too common at our age and the engagement we have to have with staying positive and focused is really , really difficult. I hope your family is around you and being supportive. Sending you the best thoughts I can, and hoping your recovery continues . Here's to a very different 2017.

Good grief! That is a lot to have to deal with in a short period of time. I have noticed your absence and I'm sorry to find out the reason. Wow--I'm still a bit overwhelmed, and it happened to you, not to me.

Thank you all so much for your kind, loving and supportive comments. It's like being wrapped in a cyber YLF hug!!!

I'm done my wee pity party that I went through and I will tell you, when I was asking "why me", I thought about it and then said "why NOT me?". We all have something to deal with at some point in our lives, so I'll just deal with this and then move forward.

My family and friends have been incredibly supportive and continue to fill my heart and soul with love and positivity. I've had excellent health care and am so very grateful to live in a place and time where such things are possible.

I'm clinking an imaginary champagne glass with all of you and saying CHEERS to 2017!
