Thanks, everyone! Thanks, Angie (and hope you're feeling better soon --- can't be nice to come home and fall ill while still recovering from the jet lag. At this point, extra appreciation for posting those Japan posts)!
I'm just going to repeat here what I sent to Angie by PM, ladies, if you don't mind:
"It actually WAS a wonderful birthday, despite my whine-y sounding post on shopping paralysis today! I haven't felt as confident in my own skin that I was born in for several years --- and a lot of that new-found assurance is thanks to YLF.
So that's a double vote of thanks!"
Ladies, you're all awesome. I hope you know that and believe it.
KellyG, I was! I got:
*Homecooked meals from one of my Kitchen Goddess friends.
*A day out just shopping and snacking on frozen yogurt (mmm, topped with almonds and cranberries and dried pears and raspberry sauce) with my SO --- and both of us being allowed to skive off work for the day.
*A surprise party in the evening from close friends.
*My gifts ranged all the way from a cow bell (Taurus searching for doorbell, what else can you give her?!) to books I've not read and wouldn't think to buy or order from the library myself, which is the best treat ever.
I felt very special indeed.
And now this! It seems the celebrations don't end this year!
