Inge/Maya- I'm pretty much in agreement with you- I've got a laptop right now (no iphone though- I use my phone so rarely that I can't justify the cost), so I don't think the ipad would add to my experience *that* much.
If I had an imac, which is what I want once Andrew and I are living back in Canada again (ie. with more permanence), I think I'd like having one. There's be a separation between my "work" (blogging), which I'd do on the imac, and having fun/browsing, which I could do anywhere. I also love the idea of having it as a reader/movie player for when I'm traveling. I'm definitely still a paper book girl right now, but can see myself changing my tune for some types of publications, in the future. Some things are worth having "hard copies" of and some things aren't- particularly when you factor in the eco issue. Anyway, the ipad sure blows the Kindle with its "8 shades of grey" out of the water!
Looking to the future, I love the idea that in the future, kids will have one ipad-like thing to carry around, instead of a backpack full of textbook and binders. But Maya- you're so right. I never get the first generation of anything, there are always kinks to be worked out.
