YLF's own trendsetter triplets! Please go and have yourselves a fabulous day, lovely ladies!
Bella, your blog brought me to YLF. It perked up my wardrobe and also oddly my wallet (I feel better about the money I do spend now, more confident)... and it brought me to one of the most engaging, nurturing and loveable communities I have known online or offline. Can I ever thank you enough? And then you keep me stretching my horizons with the challenges. So much fun! And so secretly useful. Your deceptively simple, chic and streamlined style continues to leave me open-mouthed in awe. You make me sigh with relief to be setting realistic goals and help me grow in confidence, though i know i will never match you! Thank you, my remixing icon!
Claire, your stories and your warm responses drew me in. You I see as one of my YLF godmothers who made a still-nervous newbie delurker feel at ease sharing her face, some personal attributes and challenges and style/shopping ineptitude with virtual strangers. And one of my earliest YLF friends (if I may make so tall a claim of someone I have never met!). Following your mad DIY and thrifting skills and your work with DFS as well as your singleminded streamlining of your closet dragged me yards ahead in my own style journey. Meanwhile, you have gone from head-turning chicness to gawp-worthy stunningness yourself. And taught me so much about making the best of things and not just making do. Finally, there is the hilarious way you frame things, making me laugh even as i learn i may be making a mistake. Thank you, my inspiration in wardrobe clarity.
Nancy, I have more style affinities with you than with Bella and Claire. Yet what makes me click on your post is not just a search for inspiration but the great reads. I learn so much from you. You tell me new things, point me in new directions for inspiration, and model enrichment acquired by pushing personal limits and limitations ... and not just in fashion! When life turns on the pressure, you don't buckle--you *swashbuckle*! Your quiet, warm humour makes me smile even on a stressful day. Your care for other people's feelings is one of your most precious gifts to this community, and your honesty always to be relied on. And (since this is clearly about me) you inspire me to play literary games with my closet. Indeed, you are one of the YLF mentors I need to credit with helping me define my style aspirations verbally (along with Angie, Astrid, Suz, Una...). Your dandy dressing is thrilling me to bits these days. Like good poetry. Thank you, my model of taking style and life by the horns.
