I'm having a great day. I just quit my long-time job; Friday was my last day (I actually timed it with my birthday, so I could make good on my resolution of quitting while I was still 40 ;-)). So I'm enjoying the first day of a new chapter in my life and it feels real good. I've been busily prepping for a little party tonite, which is one of my favorite things to do. Not 100% sure yet what I'll be wearing; I'm thinking my black pencil skirt with the vertical ruffle, a white blouse, menswear vest, flower pin, and boots.
I got a very stylish birthday present: my partner gave me a beautiful scarf with giraffe print on one side (and a silky print with sewn-on pattern on the other side), which turned out to perfectly match my new dark turquoise cardi that I picked up at H&M yesterday, so I wore that for breakfast out at a cafe.
No German birthday cake, Inge! I'm prepping a lot of hors d'oeuvres for tonite and got lazy on the dessert - I bought brownies from a local bakery!
