Droid. And I am *not* a happy camper. Its screen is either too sensitive, or not sensitive enough - and always at the wrong times. So frustrated one time, I almost threw it out of the car window (I actually did throw my DH's phone out the car window once ... but that's a whole 'nuther story).

I'm an Apple girl through and through ... MacBook, iTouch, iPod and iPad. Now that iPhone is coming to Verizon, I'm tempted to switch out my Droid. A couple of things hold me back - the fact that we had to renew our 2-year contract just a few months ago when we got our Droids, so it will be expensive to switch to another smart phone ... and the fact that the data downloads on the Verizon iPhone are apparently slower than on the Droid.

(My son had an iPhone on the AT&T network, and he was constantly dropping calls and very frustrated - but that's a carrier issue.)

Anyway - I'll probably stay with my (*frichen*fracken*) (*mumble*grumble*) Droid until an upgraded iPhone comes to Verizon and we're closer to signing a new contract.

iPhone! Just got it on Verizon and I love it! Used to be a Blackberry user.

All Apple all the time. iPhone.

Droid!

I don't even have a landline any more. The AT&T call problems ruled them out as a carrier back when I got my last phone. Now that the iphone has come to Verizon, I still don't have any interest in switching. I much prefer Android's open source to Apple's closed system.

I am an addict and I could never go back to a nonsmart phone.

an iphone user here...

I'm the only one with a Windows 7 phone? Well! I love my Windows phone and would highly suggest them (I would never get an iPhone, Android was my other consideration when buying this phone but barely). I use the HTC HD7 (T-mobile).

iPhone with a pretty purple cover. I had no idea I wanted one until my husband gave me one for mother's day. Now I am smitten....

I have a Google phone. I didn't want to have AT&T as a carrier when I needed the phone, so didn't get the I-phone. I've yet to really make use of all the cool things it does. I'm a slow learner.

I don't have a smartphone yet - actually, I don't even have mobile internet - and am currently debating between the Droid X and iPhone. I'm not a Mac user, and I use Gmail, and I've heard wonderful things about the Droid X so I'm leaning towards that one.

I don't have a landline, cable, or TV, so I could justify the extra cost of a data package - but it's still significantly more than what I'm paying for now.

I've had my IPhone since October. I purchased it after getting rave reviews from my Mum & little bro who both have one & whilst I hate to say it, Mum was right. I love my IPhone.

I have an app to track time for my clients for billing purposes, track my menstrual cycle, do my netbanking, food/exercide diary, google maps, emails, ebay, notepad, calendar etc.

Before this I had a Nokia 6300 which was indestructable but I love my IPhone so much more. It just helps me run my life better.

It also allowed me to keep up to date much better during Cyclone Yasi which hit just south of me recently.

ETA - Mine costs me $60/month & includes 2GB data, free facebook, $500+ free calls & unlimited free texts.

iPhone and BB 9700

I've been whinging about getting an iPhone since they came out, but I'm just not willing to shell out the extra money for a monthly data plan. I could put that money towards shoes!

So I have a plain-Jane phone (a Samsung Reality, which I cannot stand, BTW)

I have a Blackberry. I have had some version of Blackberry for the past six years or so, but I am now at the point where I am starting to dislike the Blackberry and am considering something new when it's time to upgrade. However, my major issue with the iPhone and its ilk is the touch screen. After six years of typing on my Blackberry keyboard I am incredibly fast, and I just can't go as quickly on the iPhone. So my major criteria when looking at a new smartphone is the existence of a keyboard. My boyfriend got a Droid over an iPhone for this very reason.

So now you have to tell us why you asked!

iPhone and I LOVE it. I converted to all Apple products last year and have no regrets. I'm all about user-friendly technology.

i-phone

Like some others my husband was the driving force behind the decision. Up until now all my phone did was call people- I don't think i could ever go back.

We waited until the most recent i-phone came out and the prices dropped but the main thing was the cheaper data plan. We have wireless and everywhere we spend time has wireless so we rarely utilize the 3g option. The limited data plan meant that we were paying about the same for our phone bill. With the unlimited option it would have been tacking on $30 every month. That adds up.

I hope you are making an app....so exciting!

I have a Droid. It's more phone that I need or want, but whatever, I guess. They make it so hard to get something basic anymore, don't they?

My lifestyle doesn't warrant a smart phone right now. I actually abandoned my old Blackberry for a while.

In the future, I'd definitely like to try an Android phone. And Windows 7 sounds intriguing, too.

Thanks for all the great info (and please keep it coming if you haven't had a chance to reply yet).

For those who asked, yes, we are thinking about "YLF on the go". There was a thread about iPhones about a year ago and I was curious to see whether more people had adopted (Answer: yes) and also whether the rapid growth of Android was reflected here (Answer: not as much).

I'm also happy to see the mentions of Windows Phone 7. These days I'm an iPhone user, but I used to work in Microsoft's mobile team and I still have many friends who do.

I currently just have a run of the mill touch screen phone. I hadn't really considered an iphone or android, but a YLF app may convince me to have a look when I can upgrade my phone next year x

I mainly use the land line and seldom my Siemens m35.... I might get my teenage daughters Samsung star as a hand me down one day....

I have an iPhone and love it.

iPhone here, very happy customer.

For Steph, my Google phone has a real keyboard and touch keyboard option. Until you mentioned it I'd forgotten that the keyboard was the deciding factor in getting this phone. My fingertips don't work on touch screens, whether they be phones, dishwashers, whatever.

I have an android but I may switch to the iphone eventually

I'd love to get a iphone, but the monthly cost increase is holding us back...I currently have THE lamest cell phone there is...half the time my voice mail takes a week (literally!) to come in DH doesnt want to spend the money to get decent phones, so Im stuck in limbo... still holding onto the dream of having a Ipad....maybe someday!

My personal phone is an iphone, which I love solely for the apps and ipad! My work phone is a BB, which after using the iphone, i find is unwieldy.

Droid (Samsung GALAXY). Love my droid...I take it to bed.

Am I the only one who plans to NEVER get a smartphone? I use my phone for one thing: making calls -- and I wish to high heaven that I could remove the texting functionality, because I hate getting texts. I just don't want to be available to anyone at any time... is that odd?

LOL Rae. I do know what you mean. I consider the beeps and rings of my phone to be indicators only and not a requirement that I answer in any way. It makes my friends nuts.
