Handbag enthusiasts...have you seen one this color? (added photo)

I am on the hunt for a new bag, and I really want to find one that is the same shade of blue as this Ferragamo bag: http://couture.zappos.com/salv.....tte-safari.

On my current grad student budget I think I could only buy this if it were about 85-90% off, so I was wondering if anyone has come across any similar colored bags. I've checked Zappos and Ebags and have a few candidates, but nothing that is quite shouting "buy me!" yet. My goal is to find something about the same size as the bag in the link too. Big enough to carry my Nook, wallet and a spare pair of shoes (I often will wear flats when walking/on public transit and then switch to heels when I get to my destination).

Okay, hopefully this photo works, I've never tried to add one to a post before. Please let me know if you still can't see it! This bag is about $1250 and I'm looking for something more in the range of $150 or less, maybe $200 if I really, really love it.

ETA: It's about "shopper" size - big, but not as big as a tote bag.

Yes, it worked, I can see it. That is a beautiful color. It looks like blue/purple, sort of periwinkle?

It can be hard to see colours correctly on monitors sometimes...but here's one that sort of reminded me of the one you posted:

I realize the colour isn't quite the same, but the material and style/shape are similar to the one you've fallen in love with. There's also a slightly smaller version of the exact same bag on Endless as well.

Wow, velvetychocolate, that's a great find! I wasn't familiar with that website, thanks for introducing me to it.

Do you have any experience with that brand? (Co-Lab by Christopher Kon?). I'm hoping to find something that is decent quality and that will last for at least a couple of years.

No, I don't know much about that brand - so can't say about the quality, but it sure looks good!

Also thought of these as well - did a search for "Perlina" bags on 6pm, and selected "blue"

Here's another one that caught my eye (pic#1), but it's more of a teal colour and not really a whole lot like the one you've picked out, but still...

I'm not sure about 6pm, but I'm pretty sure Endless has free shipping/free returns.

Ha ha, didn't mean to be an enabler Now that I am looking at the Perlina bags I'm tempted to get a bag in one of those gorgeous colors too.

6 pm is new to me too. I thought I was an avid online shopper, but thanks to VC I've discovered two great new sites today!

Go to QVC's website and browse their blue Tignanello bags. It seems like I remember a few that were close to that color. Be sure to click on the item descriptions because many of the bags come in more than one shade of blue.

Hi kmb1! I bought this B. Makowsky purse in the cobalt blue 3 months ago, and I love it! It's well constructed and the leather is incredibly soft and supple. It also came with its own dust bag, and it goes so well with much of my wardrobe.

I had never heard of the brand before, either, but Dillard's had it marked down from $269 to $104. The color was so stunning that I jumped on the deal, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one of that brand.

That blue color reminds me of Rae's bag that she dyed "Air Force Blue" with Tarrago leather dye (which is very appropriately priced for a grad student budget, BTW).

This bag looks so light on the link, but in her WIW's it appears very similar to the color you like. Of course Tarrago has other blues if you find the perfect bag and just need to change the color.

Wow, that leather dye looks awesome! I think I am going to get a couple of the bags linked from Endless to compare them and decide which (if any) I like best in person, but I am bookmarking that page on dying bags and shoes in case I come across any inexpensive leather bags (thrift store, clearance, etc) that would be fun to experiment on!
