I did not get the red, just the yellow, but the red is now on sale.

I should also add, in case it influences anyone, that my original plan to remove the tassel doesn't seem like a good one. Sometimes bag accessories are attached to a zipper pull, but on this bag they are attached directly to the zipper mechanism.

April, what is the leather like? It looks awfully stiff in the photo, but it could just be the lighting.

Also, how would you describe the yellow? Like bright yellow French's mustard, or a little darker?

In case you hadn't noticed, I am now strongly considering it. All my bags are too dark!

I really want the red one. I wear allot of black & grey so I really need that purse right. April did you find you liked the handbag as much as you thought you would? I went to Talbot's to look at one but they were not in the store. Does the leather give if it is next to your body? I have to use a cane and I need one that gives a little kinda of like a hobo bag.

I haven't actually carried the yellow bag yet (I got distracted by a beautiful deep magenta/fuchsia addition to my small collection) but will check on the softness and "give" of the leather.

Kristen, the yellow is a bright, bold, saturated, true yellow. Not pale and lemony and not mustardy.

I absolutely love the size, shape, and color of it. I was initially disappointed to see that the tassels probably need to be left attached, but I got over it. When I get home, I'll check out the softness factor and get back to you all...

And where were you, BethW, when I desperately needed someone to tell me why I should not buy this bag? You reap what you sow, missy.

Okay, so for those of you wondering about softness... This is a highly structured bag, so the leather is not slouchy-soft or the bag wouldn't hold its shape. It has a texture to it, not perfectly smooth, and a substantial fabric lining. I wouldn't call the leather stiff, Kristen, but because it's sewn into a box shape, the bag can support itself even when empty. Does that make sense?

The color is a deep, beautiful raspberry tone, not a blazing hot pink fuschia. My monitor doesn't really capture it.
