Halogen Skirt from NAS

Hi! It's my first time to start a conversation here so please bear with me.
I purchased this skirt from the NAS sale last month but have not worn it. I am not so sure if I should keep it. It seems like I only have half an outfit right now.. I can't imagine what to wear with it.. If you have suggestions, that would be great! I'm Asian, almost 30, petite. Would it make me look too young to wear to work? Keep or return?

Cute skirt! I'll bet it would look great on you. It is probably longer on you than on the model, right? But still above knee length?

I think you could wear it with tights and boots or booties. For tops, do you have a silk blouse? Or some sort of pullover? A lot depends on how much you want to avoid (or play with) the "schoolgirl" connotations of the look.

It MIGHT be a bit "young" or casual for work, but it depends on your workplace and what you do, I think.

I do find it short for a work environment, but that does depend a lot on where you work. And if it's that short on you. As far as tops, there are all kinds of possibilities. There is a wee bit of a schoolgirl vibe going on, so blouses, turtlenecks, V-neck sweaters layered over a blouse would all work. Glam it up with a silk shell. Upscale tanks under cardigans.

I have a couple of skirts in this shape - here are a couple of my outfits. I don't know if these are too casual for you though. Also, I can't find a photo of this outfit, but I've also worn these skirts with a silk blouse + blazer.

Depending on how short this is on you, I would probably stick to dark or opaque tights as that will mitigate the shortness. Boots will also help since there won't be so much leg showing.

It is a great, classic skirt.

Try pairing it with tights and dress boots or a leather jacket for a more mature look. A black turtleneck would add sophistication as well.

Thank you so much for the suggestions! I need turtlenecks! I'm fairly short at 5'3" so the skirt hits me at an inch above the knee. My work environment is casual but I tend to dress up more.

@Suz: It is above the knee but not by much. I have a couple of silk blouses but they are printed but I do have a shell in ivory. I definitely need more sweaters!

@Julie: It would be great to wear it for all those things! I just did a purge and am going for a smaller closet!

@JR: Great idea! I do need to stock up on sweaters as I just got rid of most of them after 3 years!

@Diana: I like #2 the best! Thanks for sharing! I do think I will have to wear these with tights and boots/oxfords. A silk shirt and blazer sounds nice, too!

@qpswan: Leather jacket sounds great. It's on my list but still haven't found something I like and within budget.

Might be cute with a buttoned-up, lightweight cardigan = kind of preppy, not too young.
