Halloween anyone?

I know it's early but anyone dressing up for Halloween? I have two weekends to dress up. This weekend is the annual DC Tweed bike ride that we do every year. We've been lucky because the weather will be pretty nice out and then following the ride is the meetup party with a school jazz/swing band. I'm so excited to try out my new swing steps.

Then Halloween is right around the corner. We are going to an 80s night dance party and costumes are a must (not necessarily 80s themed). My outfit: Agent Carter and hubby as Howard Stark.

Anyone else dressing up?

There's a tweed bike ride??? That sounds amazing! Please post pics! I love your costumes for the eighties party too.

A friend of mine is doing a murder mystery party on Halloween. I'm playing a "mature, wealthy divorcee and high fashion socialite" so I need to put my costume together!

Sometimes I dress up to answer the door. I still haven't bought any candy or a pumpkin.

I thought about dressing up as Marty McFly yesterday since I have an orange (rust) down jacket.

My ballroom dance studio has a party each year. I'm going as Betty Boop this year. Wish me luck on applying false eyelashes, ugh! I've never done it before. I tried a test run tonight, and it was a horrible mess.

Friends of mine are throwing a Halloween party and strongly suggested coming in costume. I don't enjoy it, don't own one already and don't want to spend money on it and then have to store it afterwards. I'm wondering right now if I can just wear my black flower dress with some accessories and get away with being a gypsy fortune teller, LOL.

Gentleman friend has lovely white hair and blue eyes like Peter Graves, so we are thinking of going as Mr. Phelps and Cinnamon Carter from the old Mission: Impossible TV series.

We're having a party at work the day before Halloween. Our COO is SO into it, and she made a point of saying, "it's surprising how easy it is to come up with a simple costume" or something like that. In other words, better make an effort to participate. I picked up a red braided wig a couple years ago to go trick or treating with my son, so I'm going as the Wendy's girl. I figure I can wear a blue plaid shirt with a navy skirt, tights and brogues. Maybe pick up a Wendy's hamburger before the party to use as my prop. This photo is me and Savvy when she was a brand new puppy in her dinosaur outfit (Savannahsaurus Rex). I had to cover up my costume with a heavy coat that night.

Gigi - Betty Boop costume would be really fun. Good luck on applying the false eyelashes.

Astrid - all you need to do is don a long scarf on your head, maybe some long earrings that you can borrow. It's really that simple. Sorry you don't enjoy Halloween. It's the only time of year I can dress up in something I would never wear.

MsMary - Mission Impossible costumes would be awesome. Now you got me thinking about future Halloweens.

I was going to put on a Cat in the Hat hat and have each of the pups be Thing One and Thing Two, but it's just to answer the door for Trick-or-Treaters.

I wish! halloween isn't such a big thing here but last year I went to a party dressed like this. I did my own make-up which was not easy. because I need glasses for close-up! It was a pretty racy look for me..lol.

I think it's because where I grew up Carneval is a big thing and I have a childhood trauma. I think I'm set with a scarf and jewelry, but I'm going to go have a look for some hose and make up to complete the look. I might need to leave my specs off too, looks a bit strange with them on. But I can definitely go without them for a few hours if I don't need to read anything.
