Thanks again everyone! One day later there was another event, the Mehendi night where women got henna put on them, there was also Indian dancing! My daughter put henna on an Indian man’s hand as he didn’t want to miss out! She is artistic and drew a non- traditional item for him: a turtle!
We joined in the dancing a little. Today is quieter with the wedding tomorrow. Weather is still OK, not quite as beautiful as for the Haldi.
1 &5: my left hand straight after the henna last night, and today.

Thank you for sharing these terrific photos and descriptions. It is such a treat to get a glimpse of something so special. You look very beautiful in your yellow, as others have said.
I’m not sure that they’re all real flowers Angie but some of them are. The Mehendi was at the bride’s parents’ home, so obviously they had been working hard decorating same as we had.
Wow! So much fun and beauty! Love the colour! You are a pocket Venus, Jenni, and it looks like you packed well for the trip and events. Thank you so much for sharing with us via your photos.
Beautiful photos. The colour looks lovely on you. You should wear yellow more often. I know tumeric is very messy. I have never been to a traditional wedding despite being married to an Indian and invited to a few. Its always been at difficult times (once when I was pregnant and didn't want to risk stomach/food issues in India). It looks amazing and an experience you will remember forever.
Jenni, what wonderful photos! I just cannot get enough of the outfits and decorations; everything is so beautiful! While you don't have an outfit photo, it looks like the pattern on your dress was beautiful, too.
I am very much looking forward to photos of the wedding if you choose to post them. Congratulations to your son and your new DIL! I wish them many years of happiness!
Thanks Carla, Sally and Echo!
Sally I hope you may yet get to go to such a wedding, especially with your connection to the culture.
Echo it’s my nephew who married not my son. We travelled from New Zealand to Canada for this wedding. Yes, I am sharing wedding photos in a new thread.
