that she had a hairstyle she wanted to show me. I just wanted to post it here, so those of you who were curious could see.
I really love it, but I am not up for the added expense of coloring. I keep waiting to get gray hair, so that I have an excuse to color LOL
What do you guys think of this cut with my natural color?

It looks like a longish shag to me. I think the color is what gives it so much sass. I'm not sure how it would translate minus the chunky color.

i think it's really fun and zingy - would you style it with the punky part sticking up? My hair does that naturally when it's that short. The highlights are key to my eye, though, and I've learned that the hard, expensive way.

I think I agree with Kelly- it's the color that makes this do. Not that the shape and length wouldn't work for you, but it would be lacking the choppiness and depth that the dramatic highlights here give.

I LOVE the do on this lovely lass! It works so well with her specs and brows.

I definitely think that the style will work sans the colour. But the added drama with the high contrasting tones is what makes it extra killer.

(I am very drawn to dramatic hair styles)

I think it would look good even without the color but you would need to commit to styling it daily to get the "punkiness" and getting regular haircuts. It could get scraggly really easily if not cared for.

I think this would look fabulous on you. I love the way your wear your hair currently but this cut and with the bit of colour would add a lift and a bit of an edge. (not that your current do does't have edge cos I think it does) So I am a yes. It does require maintenance but... The cut with you your natural colour would be great, but what if you just had a few thick highlghts at the front, I cant imagine that would be too costly to maintain. Definitley worth considering with the colour.

It would look great! I do love the highlights. Can we twist your arm? I think once they are lightened you don't have to do it too often. Even if the blond fades a little it would still look as sassy.

Anyway, super cute cut no matter which way you choose to go!

This would look super on you, Khris. I do think the colour is what makes it zing. But I'm not sure that would be a HUGE expense/upkeep. Maybe three or four times a year would be all. You don't need to highlight all the time.

Khris, I could see it working with less dramatic highlights too. Maybe *some* highlights or lowlights, but more subtle. I don't highlight my hair any longer - I used to basically highlight all over - but I know my mom & sister have had our stylist do partial foils on them that still can pack a lot of color punch but cost less, and they only have to go in every 3 months to get the color touched up.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. Could you do the highlights yourself? I think it's possible, especially since they are limited, and I'll bet some of the forum pros could coach you. I think this would be insanely fab on you.

I have an appointment for a bang trim with my hairdresser next week. I think I will print out the picture to show him and see what he thinks about what it would take to maintain it.

I love this hair style and I think it would be so fun for you. I think it would be great even without the highlights.

If you don't have to color your hair, don't do it! I have been gray since I was 15, and it is a major pain in the tail to keep up a decent looking dye job. The few times I've gotten highlights they've been over $100, and then you need to keep doing them every few weeks!! Whaaaa!?!?! It is way to costly and high maintenance for my lifestyle!!

I like the choppy feel to this style. I'd like to see a break up of horizontal lines in your overall picture, and I would love to see some vertical lines which this hairstyle offers.

I agree the highlights are important in this look but I still think you could look great with this shape sans highlights.

Why not try the shape first and then take it from there?

I like the way this cut has movement away from the face, rather than clinging to the face. (Hope that makes sense.)

I think the cut is awesome, and while it is extra great with the punch of contrasting haircolor, it would be really good on your with your current hair color as well, if you committed to putting product in your hair. What I would love about it on you would be the "see thru" bangs would really open up your face, coupled with the choppy, face framing effect at the jaw line. Your hair is beautifully thick, but between the heavy bangs and the glasses, you don't have a lot of face showing; this is something I fight myself. I'm always nagging my hair dresser to make my bangs show face underneath them.

I like it! I think it would open up your face more. The added color is fun, but I'd like to see the cut on you either way.
