hairstyle change - ideas?? - YouLookFab Forum

I posted this question on my FB page and then realized this would be the perfect place to ask! I'm ready for a change with my hair but not sure how drastic I want to go and/or how much styling I'm willing to put into it lol. So the question I posed was what celebrity hairstyle would you pick for me? I'll put in a pic of how I've been wearing it mostly over the last 10 years. Sometimes I wear bangs, sometimes I don't. I often go curly but do waves as well. I will never take the time to straighten it - ugh. Won't go above collar bone either! Picky much ha ha?? I've been told I resemble Sarah Jessica Parker for what it's worth and Alanis Morrisette depending on 'our' hairstyles at the time. So what's your idea of a look for me??? This should be fun! Mo, it is hard for me to judge, because I have to tell you that you look so much like my best friend Sarah! She was a brilliant teacher and poet, and sadly passed away three years ago. It is really throwing me off. Here's a photo of her:

In high school she had a 20s style bob (we were obsessed with Brideshead Revisited), and it looked amazing on her. Don't know if you want to go that extreme right away, though.

I actually quite like her hair the way it is in the pic you posted. I can see the resemblance. I have a long face so I wonder when I get away from the bangs if it's worse for my shape but sometimes I get sick of dealing with bangs and let them grow out anyway, for better or worse!

Your hair's really pretty! I think a great update would be to cut it about shoulder length, with long layers, then either grow the bangs out or keep them razored or very blunt. Maybe deepen the color just a little to bring out your complexion more.

Thanks, Kristine! I used to wear it VERY long and so I'm nervous about length but I know I need a change. I think shorter would be more flattering for my face but too short and the FL humidity might make a frizzy bush out of it! I really like how the curl comes out with the cut you showed. I'll be honest - I don't style my hair much ( I'm sure it shows ) But mostly just let the natural texture come out. Your idea for a razory bang I've done and liked in the past.
