Haircut tomorrow: do we like this inspiration photo?

Rushing off to school, but wanted to get feedback on this inspiration photo for my haircut tomorrow:

I had been growing my hair a bit to try a Victoria Beckham inspired bob, but then I saw the above picture on a sign at Nordstrom's and really liked it. I foolishly didn't take a picture of the sign, but the amazing Rosie managed to find it online.

What do you think? FWIW, I have super-straight fine hair. My hair tends to fall forward in a similar way to the photo. My only concern is whether I'll be able to achieve and maintain volume at the crown like the photo has.

I have super straight, fine hair too. I don't think your hair will look like the photos without a lot of work. But, the cut could still be cute on you if you're ok with a more sleek looking version of it.

So, I *think* this is the same model with her hair styled a bit differently. I do agree that you will have to use product and style it to get it to look like the one you like (which is awesome.)

I agree with Khris--I think to achieve that look you'd need volumizing products, hot rollers, a curling iron, and some serious time. But ask your stylist. It's a great look!

Your current hairstyle (based on your Linder boot pics) looks very similar to the first photo--only the model's is styled differently. I think the inspiration photo is really cute but I wonder if that's too much hair in the front. I much prefer the second photo that Rosie posted--I like how it frames her face. I could definitely see that on you!

The secon photo Rosie ahs posted looks like a short bob to me. If thois is the case this is the easiest haircut for fine and straight hair (I know, i have one too!) Bob does not require a lot of product and styling: a bit of mousse or gel and blowdry.
the first picture does look like more work to style though...

the other thing to note is that the model has some nice highlighting going on which adds to the textural interest of the cut. If your hairdresser is good, she should look at your photo and talk you through how you can best adapt the look to your hair and features.... and then sell you lots of product so that you can pull it off at home

It's really nice, but I think a lot of it is the photography and hair highlights. I like the idea though!

I like the idea of a short hair cut with some longer pieces in the front. Sounds exciting!

Ditto Queenie. Bring this photo to your stylist and modify it something she feels you can pull off at home. she is also correct about the highlighting adding textual interest! something to consider:)

Thanks, all! My plan is definitely to just talk everything over with the stylist and see what we arrive at.

Khris, thanks for the reality check! Very thoughtful, and especially useful coming from someone else on Team Straight and Fine.

I definitely agree that the first style would take lots of work, but the thing is that I pretty much have always had to put in lots of work to make my hair look at all like I want it to. *IF* I can achieve the look, I am totally willing to put in lots of time and effort.

Rosie, maybe you can have a makeup tutorial with me and tell me what to buy and thus get some vicarious makeup satisfaction?

Kellygirl, I see your point re: too much hair in front, but unless I have short bangs or can firmly tuck behind my ear, lots of my hair falls forward like that anyway. That's just how it grows, and so I like forward styles where I don't have to try and force it constantly backwards.

re: the second photo, yes, that would be an easier style to get and maintain, and it's very possible that will be what I do if the stylist says I should. But, I feel like it's a cut I have had about a million times and would like a change from. Sveta, you're right that a short bob is one of the easiest for our hair type.

Queenie and Kristen, ack! Thanks for calling my attention to the highlighting thing--it totally does add a lot to that photo. I will talk it over with the stylist.
