Haircut tomorrow - How short should I go? (pic heavy)

I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow and I'm debating how short I should go. I've had the short pixie (pic 1) and have realized that I like to have my hair a bit longer around my face. I've tried varying degrees of short and I'm not sure which is most flattering. My hair is fine-medium and board straight, except at the ends where it likes to curl. The last pic is about where it is now. What do you think?

I LOVE the first two pics - the cut shows off your beautiful bone structure. I know that you have to really want a short cut though

I love your pixie cut too; but if you don't want to go so short, I think the little curl in pic #3 is pretty too

Caro - I have no qualms going short. I guess it's one of my hangups about my body. I feel like most of my facial features are work with it, except my nose. But, I trust yours and everyone else's opinion over my slightly distorted view.

Goodness! What about your nose doesn't go with the pixie? You have a pretty, nicely shaped, small nose! If you were blessed with a bountiful nose, like me, I could see it. But your lovely little nose? Perfect for a pixie. (But, with that said, I understand that sometimes hangups have no rational source.)

You actually have a beautiful face for a pixie cut! I think the bangs may have been a bit too short. Maybe try something like this?

I've sported a pixie for 5+ years and I'm all for going short if you have the urge to do it!

Noses are deceptive. They're the thing closest to the mirror, and they get distorted the most in camera-phone pics. So, I bet we all think our noses are weird, and we're all incorrect. Plus when I stare at my face I feel like my heavy glasses make my nose look like one of those Groucho Marx glasses/nose/mustache combos. But I doubt anyone else sees it that way, because they see me moving and talking and not just straight on from a few inches away!

I really like the length in picture #2. I almost wonder if you could style it in a spiky pixie cut like Angie's or if it would require too much product. I know my hair is too thin to pull it off.

Your nose in completely in proportion with your face imo. You know I would tell you if I thought something wasn't working. Sometimes the things we see as flaws are some of our best assets

@Caro - Very true. I know you a few other people on here always tell it like it is. But you do it in a nice way.

@MsKatieKat - I hadn't thought about a longer bang.

@Greyscale - I love Angie's style, but I know from experience that my hair doesn't do well with a lot of product.

You have a beautiful jawline. How about a 1920s bob? But yes, that Audrey Tatou pixie is gorgeous too!

@peacechick - I love bobs. I've gotten my hair cut in a bob for the past year or two, except for the past little bit because I wasn't sure what change I wanted. I think right now I'm looking for a change. Does that kind of make sense?

Your face is adorbs, and +++ able to do pixie! If you want a more feminine vibe, just do longer around the face vs the short bang. Do the longer bang that can be brought forward, or styled back like a pompadour.

Now, you can also do the shortie baby bang, 'cause you've got the face for it.

It all boils down to preference. Some people hate having a lot of hair at their nape, and want if close cropped there, but like the length in the front. Others hate hair that hangs in their eyes and go for shortie bangs.

Lucky you with your beautiful face and features! You can really do anything you want and it will suit!

@K - the Audrey Tatou pixie you posted: I vote YES! I really think a bit of long bangs would suit you. Although for your face shape, I think I would recommend you go with the Audrey one

I prefer the bob on you (I guess I am in minority here). You can go for quite short bob bordering on pixie cut, angled or asymmetric. I really like when hair frames your face a bit.

Seriously, though....you would also look good with a shorter bob, angled, as Sveta said. But that would depend on your hairline.

And now I'm resisting the urge to chop my hair off again. lol

Otherwise, I'd have suggested a short, jaw length bob (because I have fine, board straight hair and it cooperates best in a bob; with a pixie I have to use mousse for it to have texture), but it sounds like you're tired of bobs.

How do you feel about full bangs? That might be a fun way to change things up too, but it's never fun to grow them out if you hate them.

I do think a side part flatters you more than a middle part if you keep enough length to be deciding on parts!

I'm waiting to get a hair cut until after my sister's wedding next month, but in the mean time I've been collecting different hair pics! Hope I didn't bombard you too much.

@Runcarla - I think I'd rather have my hair longer on top and shorter at the nape. That's one of things that's bothing me most about my hair right now! It's touching my shoulders and I've realized that I I just don't like that.

Thanks Sveta and Suz! Everything I'm talking about I'm going to share with my hair dresser. She has a good feel for what my hair can and can't do and if she thinks I should go with a short bob/pixie hybrid, I will.

Pretty sure I'm biased, since I'm growing out my pixie - but I love #4. (I'm trying to grown mine out to about that length - partly because I also feel like I don't have the right face for a real pixie). What do you think about a longish pixie (like Suz's) ?
