This is a great length on you, and the type of cut should give you style and versatility as it grows, if you decide you you don't want to keep it as is for a while.

I love this cut, since the long lengths around the face provide a 'long hair' look and feel, but the super short back gets the hair off the nape (great for summer) and showcases a pretty neck. You can change the look by changing where you put the part as well.

Thanks Runcarla. I like the length in the front as well, it's a great length for framing the face. I only went to a super cheap hairdresser where you don't need an appointment, so I just told her to cut the longest layer off to keep it simple. I think I might have our family's hairdresser adjust it a bit when I go home. I think it would look better if the sides were a bit more angled.

Thanks Ingunn! My mum always liked my shorter hair better too, same as my godmother. It's definitely more sassy... Although I do think that I now need another way to add a bit of boho to my everyday outfits.

I agree with Ingunn and Ramya -- your long hair was lovely, but the shorter length makes it easier to see your pretty features, while still taking advantage of the texture and wave of your hair.

I think the stylist did a great job with this fix - it looks very modern and light and really it's great on you. And as Suz said, will be a fun change for the summer. I was afraid it was going to have a lot of short hair at the top from the earlier description, but it doesn't look that way at all - this cut seems streamlined in a good way. I like that it still has a "longer hair" appearance too. Do you ever part it on the sides slightly (just curious if you can with this cut).

Thanks Kelly! I didn't go to the same one, no. I just went to a cheap hairdresser in my neighbourhood. No styling and I had to blowdry myself, but she cut the long layer off for little money. I will try to post some full length pics soon.

Thanks Shannon! It's the fixed cut, I had it done this morning. The first cut did look aweful in comparison.

Thanks Texstyle! I do have short hair on the top, it also sits on the other layers because it's too short. It's not that visible from the front because I still have the long strands there, but you can see it from the sides and in the back. It's not as bad as it was before though, because the difference between the layers isn't as big anymore. You'll see it when I take pics. And no, I never part it on the side. Even if I wanted to - my hair just always wants to fall into a middle part. I can do it if I part it when it's still wet, but even then my scalp hurts after a while.
