I went for my haircut today, all excited to get my bangs, only to have the stylist put all sorts of doubts in my head. She remarked that the girls in the pictures I brought all had thick hair or were wearing hairpieces, and said she couldn't guarantee that they would look the same on my fine hair. She also warned me that they start quite far back and I'd have to cut a lot of hair. Long story short, I told her I would go back and try to find pictures that are more representative of my hair type. In the meantime just clean up what I already have (I did not go for the ASOS style, only because my hair isn't long enough yet. I'll go for it once my hair reaches the right length). So far even though I was disappointed, I appreciated her honesty.

While she was cutting, she said she felt the front of my hair was too heavy and asked if she could layer and shorten it a bit differently because she didn't want it to cover my "pretty eyes." I said that would be fine. She asked me how much I would be willing to cut, and I said it had to be long enough for me to tuck behind my ears. So far so good. I liked that she would ask me before doing anything.

But, despite what I said, she basically cut side bangs on me, which is exactly what I had before I grew my bangs out. I can't tuck them behind my ear. Too short. This is exactly WHY I grew my bangs out. I was sick to death of trying to keep them out of my face. I used to do it by tucking them under my glasses, but I'm not wearing glasses now and there is nothing I can do and I'm going absolutely batty here trying to type with hair in my eyes. I'm going to have to buy some hair clips and grow them out all over again. UGGGHH. I am so annoyed at this. I made myself very clear so I have no idea how she thought this was okay. The irony is that having no bangs meant that my "pretty eyes" were NOT covered. Now I do have one eye covered by my stupid hair. I think she realized that it didn't work on me as she started to blowdry it. Try as she might, she could not get my bangs to stay on the side. I already knew that she would not be able to, and if SHE can't do it, then there isn't a chance in hell that I can. I know they'll grow back but I am super irritated because I had JUST FINISHED growing them. My only other option is to cut straight bangs, which she told me I probably shouldn't do.

Grrrrrr!
