It's been just over a month since I had all my long hair cut off. Here's my head after the cut:

(It's a big deal to me showing you my head by the way and I don't know why my eyes look so googly.) It's naturally wavy, I have to iron the fringe (bangs) straight. I love it shorter, but I still think I look a little, I don't know, mumsy? I'm thinking of something a little edgier - any ideas?

I think your hair looks lovely soobee - and I'm jealous of anyone with natural wave. My hair is poker straight. Whenever someone goes from long hair to short, I think it's a good idea to do it in stages. Live with this for a while and then if you're still feeling like you want something more, then go for it.

did you see Christy's post with her new haircut? You have wonderful wavy hair, just needs a really good cut that will let you wash, scrunch and go. We have lots of curly hair gals here actually, hopefully they will chime in.
Your pic is great, but I've learned through trial and error to look at the camera in the mirror, and then my eyes don't look like they are looking off into the distance.

I like QM's idea to check out Christy's cut if you would like the option of wavy or straight. It might work!

I think you look great - not googly at all! Your hair is gorgeous. I like Shannon's idea - play with the new style and see what you can do with it and then decide if you want a change.

I'm probably not the best to give hair advice, but I bet your hair would look great in a kind of long curly bob- just enough above your shoulders to give it some movement.

Its so nice to "see" you soobee. I've really been enjoying your posts! I think that your hair is a great transitional cut from long to maybe just a little bit shorter - like Parsley suggested - a long curly bob. Hopefully, some of the curly-haired women will chime in!

Oh ... yeah ... look at the CAMERA! duh! I'll have to look for Christy's posts and check her hair, thanks for that ladies. What do you do with your fringe (bangs) with a bob? Does it stay the same or should it all be one length?

It's quite short in the back (don't have any pics of that, sorry) with longer layers in front. Have you thought about growing out the bangs at all? It's such a hassle, but for me, I like my hair in its wavy state best without bangs.

Hi Christy, thanks for the link - you have great hair and I love that cut. Yes, I have thought about growing it out, but how do you keep all that hair off your face? As I live in a tropical climate, having hair hanging down into my face when it's warm and humid would not work so well for me.

Soobee - I don't have any advice for curly hair, although I LOVE christy's new do. Just chiming in to say how gorgeous you are - you have such a lovely face - it's so nice to see you!

Ah...I am in Seattle and don't have the heat to deal with. I will say that it's really short in the back, so there's no hair on the back of my neck. The front layers are long enough that I can tuck them behind my ears or pull them back in a barrette if need be.

Ah, right, I'm in Australia, Seattle is a city, right? I'm presuming from your reply that it's cold. I hadn't thought about having my hair shorter at the back than the front, but maybe that's the edge I'm looking for.
