The first stylist I tried after relocating gave me two great cuts, then moved away. I did not like the cut I received from her replacement - it was squarish and had obvious ridges (see pic #4). I let it grow for 3 months, then got it cut today. The stylist I tried listened to me, and made some suggestions of her own (which I agreed to). She took my active lifestyle into consideration, and made sure the cut looked good CURLY before styling it straight as a 'treat'. she also said she liked the natural colour (and she is a red head!)

I will always wear my hair curly far more often then straight, but it is fun to be able to change things up. I like how this week's featured blogger works with her hair, and think that the longer top - short back - reverse angled cut, is something that works for me. The top layer still carries 'colour' but my 'roots' are 4 inches.
