Can you have her just not touch that front side fringe at all? it might be that if you trim up the rest, your look will feel changed enough that you will feel new again, and you will be on your way to the more asymmetrical look. As someone who grows and cuts frequently, I know what Angie means about needing to grow, grow, grow to make a big style move. On the other hand, even small changes make a difference.

That's the problem with short hair... to change it you've either got to keep going shorter or live through a grow-out phase. (Channeling Captain Obvious this morning). I've been watching a lot of videos from "The Makeover Guy" out of Minneapolis (he has a book, also) and he's convinced me that I need to let the top grow out (unfortunately I came to that conclusion the week I got a pretty short haircut) in order to have some options that are different. It's been four weeks so far and I feel like this is the slowest my hair has ever grown. I'm looking forward to what it looks like in another six weeks or so. I thought I wanted a Julianne Hough pixie but then I realized I just want to look like Julianne Hough, lol. I think you could pull off this cut with your fine bone structure.

I will be watching. Sadly I have no advice to offer.

Suz, you are one of my style icons on YLF and I am certain whatever you decide to do will look super fab.

I met a woman just yesterday that had a cut similar to one Angie posted but the shorter layered part (lowest part and around the nape of her neck was dyed a deeper copper color and the top layers were done with blonde and highlights. It was dramatic but not too wild and she looked fantastic.

I have always thought Darin Wright has great hair and she bears a resemblance to you as well.

It is similar to the others though with asymmetry and long bangs. It may be too much of the same... because yours looks like this but a different color.

Wow - I don't know who Darin Wright is but I want to find out! Great hair! And great style !

With going grey on my mind, if that is in the near future for you- or any other colour change- the longer your fringe is the longer it will take to transition.

Well Suz, I would go shorter or longer! But I would suggest going shorter for you if you wore sitting in my chair But if you go the longer way then grow it something like the second pic.

I think whatever you do will be georgeous on you. Have you though about hi-lighting the front more? I think it would work.

Suz, I am reading the responses here with great interest. I am sorry I have nothing to offer as I am in similar place to you right now not quite knowing where to go with my hair. I 'think' i have decided to grow mine into a short asymetric bob with the longest point no longer than my chin. And texturise it. But I may change my mind tomorrow lol. I don't see you with longer hair. I recall how your hair was when you first came to YLF and while it was lovely, I do think shorter cuts are incredibly attractive on you. I will be waiting and watching to see what you do:)

I am always on the lookout for short styles that I can move to so I can avoid boredom too. Two factors that I find important in the decision are how much daily effort can I realistically afford and how much of the fuss factor can I stand. I am not willing to spend more than 5 minutes daily on styling and I know that I need a style that won't result in hair falling into my eyes regularly.

My suggestion is that you determine what your breaking points are and then assess the styles against the limits you've established.

You had talked about adding your signature burgundy color into your hair a year or more back. Could that be an option to add interest and change?

I'm in the same boat and am trying to grow my hair out currently. It's looking mighty bad right now. Good luck. I"m sure you'll look good no matter what do you get.
