@ cat2 - my hair is at 12 inches (straightened) and I’ve had it to about 15 inches. It was all one length and looked like Sarah Jessica Parker’s in her role as Carrie in SITC for 6-8 months of the year. When there is less humidity, the curl smoothes out a little every day from pulling it back, hats, and sleeping on it. The curl revives if it gets damp or washed. I would like to try for another year - to 18 inches?

So, I will certainly take my stylist’s advice, but now I have some ideas and photos to show her. Thanks, everybody!

Late to the game. I definitely vote for curly, but can give no thoughts on actual cutting. One wants to avoid ‘flat top’ too, where one’s hair is a plateau on top...

Carla, I am not sure there is a wrong choice with hair as beautiful as yours. I really love your hair the way it is, so to continue that in a longer version might work out well, but I don't know how layered it currently is. I understand the attraction of one-length hair, but I do think it is harder to style without DOING something with it (pulling it half up, for example). Regardless, like I said, I am sure it will be fab with whatever you choose.

OMG, I love nr 7/8 and your now completely natural COLOR!!! That is gorgeous, to say at least!!!

Love your natural curls, but do like #7 style a lot. It's a modern take on the bob.
