Hair Dryers

Ceramic? Tourmaline? Ion? My hair dryer is starting to give off a weird electric smell so I fear its days are numbered. My hair is super, super thick so I need it to move a LOT of air; heat not so much. When I bought this one years ago, I don't recall hearing about ions or tourmaline and maybe not even ceramic. I don't really want to pay $200+, but at the same time I don't want to throw money away on something that is essentially useless on my hair like those travel dryers in hotels.

Suggestions? Not much wisdom on MakeupAlley, Amazon, Sephora, Beauty.com or Epinions.

I would say talk to your hairdresser (if you have a regular one and like what he/she does). I've taken the advice of mine on hair dryer and flat iron, and not regretted it.

I have a Parlux, my hairdresser recommended it and it's still going after 4 years

I have an Elchim. I've had it for over 10 years and I still love it. DD's is maybe 5 years old and it's even better than mine.

Last time I asked my hairdresser he wasn't much help, but I well ask him again when I see him next week. Thankfully, my dryer has stopped giving off that electrical smell, so maybe it's not on its deathbed.

So where does one find an Elchim or Parlux? Anna's link to the Sedu Revolution showed me Ulta sold it at one time.
