Hair dryer recommendation?

Mine is big, clunky and I do not like the fussy controls. Any suggestions for me?

Also - if you use one daily, do you leave it out or do you have a neat (but handy) way of storing it when you're done using it? Thanks!

Sorry, I'm just using a blue Conair ceramic from the drug store. These days I only dry my bangs most the time, but I keep it hung up on it's little rubber hook here.
I used to have the best dryer, with a sliding heat control, recommended by my hair dresser but that was long ago and I've yet to see a similar model.

Mine is just a cheap drug store one as well. I use mine every day and wrap the cord like an 8 around the nozzle and handle and store it in the linen cabinet in my bathroom.

I had an outlet put into the wall behind the vanity cabinet in my bathroom, and a hole drilled in the back of the top drawer in the vanity cabinet. Now I can keep a power strip plugged in inside the drawer (I velcro it in place so it doesn't move around) and keep the hairdryer plugged in to the power strip.

All I have to do is open the drawer, and there is my hairdryer all plugged in and ready to go, but when not in use it's out of sight.

I did the same thing in my kitchen desk so that I could have cell phone and ipad chargers out of sight.

I have an Elchim, which I bought because it is supposed to be a tank. I looked at lots of reviews and prices before buying.

If you use a dryer everyday, I think it makes sense to get a good, powerful one. Your hair affects your appearance about as much as anything.

I have an ionic Chi, which I really like. I've had it for years. I bunch up the cord and stick the whole thing in a basket by the mirror.

I was recently sent the Hana Air Dryer from Misikko and I've been using it for about three weeks.

I am a bit hesitant to recommend an expensive hair tool that I did not personally pay for, but I can honestly say that it made a huge difference for me. I blow dry my hair everytime I wash it (except for about 3 weeks in the dead of summer, when I can't bear the heat), so for me having a strong air dryer that can get the job quickly and efficiently is important. That said, I never splurged for an expensive hair dryer, thinking that my ConAir T3 got the job done. Having now used the Hana for a while, I can say that it is the Mercedes of airdryers. It is sooo powerful that it literally blows the water off my hair. It is not as warm, but I think it is a good thing - it doesn't scorch my hair. It leaves my hair super smooth and shiny. I always admired the blowdry that my hairdresser gave me and assumed that she had some special skills. While I still think that is true, I now think that at least some part of the success is because of the professional dryer that she uses. I can now achieve almost salon quality results without frizz or static.
If anything were happen to my new dryer, I would definitely save up to replace with another professional dryer because there is really no going back in my mind.

If your hair is thick and heavy a professional dryer is worth the price. If your hair is thin or fine and dries pretty quickly, I think any drugstore dryer would do.
