I went and got my hair colored again last Saturday, and my hairdresser said that she's glad she decided to use the ash brown color, as my hair has red undertones and goes brassy with the neutral brown (and even with the neutral-ash brown mix). She said she looks at the natural color of my eyebrows to determine what hair color will look best. She also said that my eyebrows are ash brown on the thick part and a little reddish on the thin part. What does that mean for me in terms of what season I am and what color palette I should use? Call me confused! I don't know if that indicates warm or cool.
I can say that my hair has always been ash brown with a slight reddish tint that's only visible in the sunlight. For some reason, however, I have to use ash brown hair color to keep from going brassy. Is it because brown hair always skews brassy, or what?
At any rate, I'm happy with the hair color she is now using on me.
