Hair color for fun - ideas

I have several strands of gray in my head of black hair. Is there some sort of at home non-toxic dye that I can use to put some caramel or burgundy into the grays. I have seen Kool-Aid recommended. Would that work? Or is there something that would work better.

I use Naturatint, Whole Foods and Amazon have it.
If you just want hilights, just mix up half or a third of the color, and paint them on with a paintbrush or toothbrush Sounds funny but works!

Some of the teens in my neighbourhood have been known to use KoolAid to do sort of a funky ombre look - it definitely works! Lots of temporary fun hair stuff available too, if you are going to a grocery store or pharmacy for essentials.

Amazon was very low on hair dye ... I guess everyone's appointments are due!

I’m reading along with interest..not sure I’d actually go through with it, but I’ve been tempted to see if I could turn my gray to teal blue for fun.
