And I'm actually nervous!

After a couple of people mentioned it on my straight vs. curly thread, I've scheduled an appointment for tomorrow to have cut and color, but also to have a keratin straightening treatment on my hair. I talked with my stylist on the phone about it, and he thought it would be a good idea. He explained that over the following weeks it will relax and the curl/wave will come back, but without the frizziness I tend to get. Since I'm about to go on a beach vacation right after Christmas, I thought it might be a good time to try the straight treatment for some low-maintenance hair while we're away.

I feel better about embracing the curl when the mood strikes, and it was actually nice to see some of you preferred my hair wavy, but I *think* I'll enjoy having it sleek and straight and shiny for a while -- it will be a little like seeing how the other half lives.
