OK - so I finally have a hair appointment for next Friday... Yay! I made it to MArch without running to the mall and getting an appointment with whoever!

I have a husband who really dislikes short hair (he thinks it looks either too butch (his words, not mine!) or too middle aged, conservative. And I have a son who keeps begging me to have long hair for some reason. And my hair, at the length and style it's in now, would be ideal to just grow out.

Having said that though, I am not one for keeping the same style for too long. I get very bored with my hair and I do love a change! Also, I have been really down and blah about life recently, so I'm thinking a new style will be a great pick-me-up. And as much as my DH and son would love to see me with long flowy hair, I just don't think I am a long hair girl!

Unless I decide on a simple trim to keep growing the length out, these are the looks I am considering, and the way my hair currently is.

I'd love to hear everyone's input! And if you can think of some other styles, please feel free to suggest...

Each of these would look great! Do you prefer bangs or no bangs? #3 has the most bang, which I like, but if you want less bang then I like #2.

First and foremost, what a pretty face you have! Stylist must be so delighted to work with you, because your face could yield quite many killer looks with different styles. True that you also are one who could wear long hair well. However, you would also look amazing with a short style. About DH, it is possible to get such a great haircut that it would change their minds. I think your DH has dated visions of short hair. And for what is of DS... I don't know!

The styles you have chosen above would all compliment your face shape and beautiful lips. I recommend asking for a slanted line , longer in the front and shorter in the back, with volume at the crown. These looks - which I have sported myself - start not to look fresh anymore when the crown flattens. This could be corrected with a round brush and volume product, if you want to space appointments as much as possible.

It looks like you have a lot of hair, too, so I don't think it'll be too much of a problem for you.

Also, these looks look good because they are flat ironed. Without this tool, the cut will look completely different. So be sure to ask your stylist if you need to invest in one.

I would leave a strand as long as possible in the front, to get the "plunged" effect, yet with some whispering gradual bangs underneath so that it is not too severe. A good stylist will do that.

I don't know, to be honest. What about this style appeals to you? The spunky punky aspect? The waify?

Because I think a stylist could give you spunky punky with this cut, but not waify. I think you'd need a softer style to get at waify.

I think you have some good suggestions here!

The other thing I would consider is your climate - will these styles stay put where you live or will they need a lot of "tending" during the day. Also, how hard are they to style? Will you have the patience and time to put into them if they are higher maintenance? I personally won't deal with high maintenance hair, but everyone is different!

I live in a fairly dry climate with pretty straight hair. I spend about 10 - 15 minutes on my hair daily, drying and straightening/flat ironing. My stylist is fab, generally her cuts leave me with little styling problems.

As to why I like these looks... well I generally like RATE edgier haircuts. My current bob is the most conservative style I've had in a long time. I think I prefer bangs although my mom always tells me how much she loves me with my hair off my face.

Yes, you have a beautiful face. I love 3, and quite like 2. To me there is nothing the least bit unfeminine about them. Too bad there is a general prejudice against short hair because you will look gorgeous in either of these cuts. Can't wait to see the transformation!

Firstly, thank you for all the lovely compliments! I have never thought of myself as particularly pretty, so this means a lot.

Number 3 is my favourite too, so I cant wait for Friday!
