I think that Hubert de Givenchy said it best when he said, “I think hairstyle is the final tip-off whether or not a woman really knows herself.” I however have been having doubts about my hair lately and I am looking for some other opinions. So here is a short history of my hair long, short, red, blonde, brunette and even blue, not that I want to go there again, what do you think works best? I am trying to grow out the top of my hair but I do still plan on keeping the pixie cut mostly looking for color tips but suggestions on bangs/styles are welcome too.

Notes: Number 6 is my hair in it's natural state and color.
Number 13 is me with a pixie in my hair's natural color, I also have a tan.
Number 14 is current and is taken with flash

Before I pick a cut, WHAT are you trying to tell us with your style? What personality traits do you want me to think of when I see you (without having spoken to you) I only see you and your haircut and your fab clothes...

For example: You want me to see you as "soft, flirty, fun, youthful, vibrant and bohemian" OR you want me to see you as "edgy, rocker vibe, not to be messed with, fun, humorous..."

That will help me pick.

Love you as a redhead in the first pic. The bleached blonde is my least favorite. You do look great in all the varying lengths of hair!

It was actually colored darker and warmer, my natural hair is very cool and light at the roots.

I meant to add that it's really about me with the bleached hair--I never can warm up to it on anyone. So take my opinion with a grain of salt!

I the red in the first pic but my favorite is the dark version of the pixie. I think the blonde is my least favorite too -- your features just shine so much more with the dark hair!

I've had all kinds of styles over the years too. I think it's actually good to keep experimenting and not fall into a rut. Like I always say, hair grows back!

What a fun post! You look great in many lengths and styles so it really is down to what you want to express with your hair and what feels most "you." I prefer you in colours close to your natural tone.

WHAT am I trying to tell you with my style? I don't want to look like a stay at home mom, which I am. I would like to look chic, such a vague term though. Perhaps classic with a touch of edginess. That is why I am drawn towards the pixie. I had my first pixie cut at age 12 and have been going back ever since.

The daily muse says this about her pixie, " what i didn't think about was how it would effect the way i got dressed in the morning. my boyish clothes and boyish haircut didn't add up. because of the pixie, i was forced to dress more girly. i didn't mind at first, but it started to wear on me. i found myself putting on clothes that were "pixie appropriate."
I worry about that as well, my style is not super feminine in picture 11 that was what I was doing.

Personality wise not bohemian that;s for sure, I've done the rocker look and that's not quite right either. Minimalistic, Classic, a touch of edginess and youthfulness, I am only 25 after all. I would like to be taken seriously, I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard. Perhaps that is why I have started to wonder about my hair, someone recently compared it to Miley Cyrus I was like oh no that is not what you think of me is it?

You need to check out Angies Pinterest boards for "not so feminine" clothes with a pixie (as she does so well!) She has a decidely feminine and masculine style and that might give you some ideas, and some license to play with your pixie and not get "locked in" to what you think you "should" be wearing with your pixie.

I have to say I love the short dark pixie the best of all your cuts!

I like the first couple the best myself. And I like your natural look (such lovely, lovely curls) very much too, but I am a fan of natural. I would like to see more experiments with your natural curls. I think there's potential there. Unfortunately, I am anything but a hair stylist (my own hair drives me to desperation) so I can't give you concrete suggestions on cuts that would work.

I actually really like your natural look as well, but it is probably the most SAHM of the looks because it looks low maintenance. The pixie is indeed great on you. For some reason I think the blonde is making you look even younger than you are... not sure why, but I think the dark pixie probably best conveys what you are after.

You seem to me to be outgoing, but reserved in a sense that you care too much about what others think about you. The blonde hair/pink tones are not in sync with the colors you said you liked to dress in/surround yourself with. I think the very dark hair color with some warm highlights would compliment your skin tones. In terms of upping the the fashion area - keep it simple - and work it with the kids. Perhaps think of fun inexpensive scarves and bangles. Prints/textured/plain... all are great for a quick fix out of the house to the playground, school, market...

Stay true to your heart with the basics you have always loved. Just keep an extra pair of shoes, that can keep up with the next step/place you have to go, in the car.

You will always look your best if you are comfortable. Don't do the blonde thing. To spice it up, I would go with the darker colors with a more modern bob - short back with long front - no bangs.

When I clicked on #10, it was like "wow that looks great." Your eyes really popped and you just look so vibrant in the pixie style.

Hmm.... This has given me a lot to think about since the responses are all over the map. I think the blonde is going to go but the pixie will stay. I am in the process of trying to grow out my bangs so they will be a long swoop but I think I will keep in undercut. I really like how it lays in the back. Now for color???

A redhead with a pixie cut? That is something I had honestly counted as not an option, when my husband and I were talking about this that was the first thing we said. Thank you Kiwichik for giving that thought some validation. I was leaning towards 1. A more natural blonde, I was blonde as a child, 2. Light Brown with blonde highlights 3. Dark Brown with warm brown highlights or 4. Dark Brown with Black lowlights

I love 9! You have a narrow face and the bangs and the volume at the sides minimizes that. Plus it's not SAHM, it's edgy.
