ETA: Never mind--figured out a $10 delivery option that was somehow hidden before. WEIRD.

After much hemming and hawing, I was all set to buy the color-blocked Fisherman's sweater that Una got from Urban Outfitters. Went to check out--and saw the shipping cost would be $40. FORTY DOLLARS to ship a sweater! I don't think so. And of course it's an online-only item. Won't be buying that.

Just had to vent--that was some serious sticker shock. Highest shipping cost to Canada I've EVER seen.

Now I'm thinking I might be wrong to order it since I'm tall and Una is short--it might be too short on me.

Does it help if I tell you my one and only order from them wasn't a hit. The items were not there quality wise overall, the free return label wasn't included (I had to email for one) and the one layer shirt I did keep from the order twisted terribly upon the first wash and dry cycle. I mean, the side seam is practically all the way around to the belly button! harumph.
Sorry you don't get to at least try the sweater to see, though.

UO is on par, quality wise, with H&M and Zara. And sometimes F21.

I love how they call their pleather items "vegan leather."

That said, you can't beat some of their items. I am a big fan of the BDG high rise skinnies. I still have two pairs that are going strong, lots of wear, and numerous wash/dry cycles (yes I put them in the dryer).

If you can deal with acrylic, the sweater is a great deal for the look. I got free shipping to Alaska, so $40 would be outrageous - glad you got a better deal. ETA: I don't think it would be too short on you - it's a bit long on me. How tall are you? It might be shorter but I think that would look good. Want me to measure it?

I almost ordered this cool cardboard throne that you can paint as a present for my son. It was $25. The shipping to Alaska was $90. For CARDBOARD. Needless to say, we did not get it.

Ariadne - too bad - there is an Urban Outfitters in Kingston. I could have picked it up for you. But then again, I guess it would have been a bit dumb to carry it to China!

Shiny, I have some BDG skinny high rise black jeans that I call my "magic pants"! They're amazing and will definitely be my go-to jeans from now on. The "vegan leather" thing is cracking me up.

Suz, that's so kind! There's a UO near me, as it happens, but this sweater is online only.

Una, I'll PM you in case you don't see this but I'd love if you could measure yours--what size did you get?
