Had any style epiphanies lately?

Here's mine: I have been really unhappy with my hair in its naturally curly/wavy state because the ends look kind of not-perfect and it's not quite curly enough but not quite beautifully smoothly wavy, and I'd been flat-ironing it into submission every day. Then I just decided "Wait a minute! It's not unruly in a BAD way -- it's just Rough Around the Edges! It doesn't HAVE to look like I just stepped out of the salon, like, every single minute of every single day!"

And therefore, I felt okay on Saturday with my natural hair even though it was not, as they used to say in the day, band-box perfect.

Yay! I chopped my hair recently because I wanted to start over with fresh, soft, natural hair. I am not curling or straightening or fighting my hair any more either.

Nice epiphany! Don't they always say that you need to work with your hair type, not against it? Sounds like that's what you're doing.

My epiphany is that I need to invest in more grown-up clothes, like jackets, blouses, structured handbags. Perhaps it's because my youngest starts school next week and I feel able to wear nice clothes again. Perhaps it's because I am finally maturing

Your hair looks great!

I had a similar epiphany! After fighting through the humidity, I realized I actually like my hair a bit full and wavy. I'll probably go back to straight in the winter when it's dry, but for now I'm having fun with the natural texture.

This wasn't all that recent, but I realized that my feet feel so. much. better with the arch of a higher heel. I'd stuck to 1-1.5 inch heels for the weekend, but now all I'm looking at are 3.5-inch wedges.

PS: Still love those natural curls.

Wahoo! I love a good hair epiphany! I am going to get mine cut even shorter along the sides so it will require zero styling in the morning.

I may have told you this story before but my dear friend and climbing partner always blow dried and straightened her hair. I had NO idea that she actually had gorgeous natural curls until we went to Mexico together and she finally went natural on the beach. We were all stunned at how fab she looked. With all that postive reinforcement, she has since started wearing it that way and loves it!

My epiphany is that WAITING instead of BBQ on everything is a much better strategy for me, as I am Team Easily Swayed!

I am enjoying a similar epiphany and it's also with my hair. I have been trying to make it curly here in the FL weather. I've decided I like it best wavy and will go back to running a brush through it and adding anti frizz serum. What it really needs is for the layers, that were put in a few bad haircuts ago, to grow out some to tame the curl/frizz.

I actually like your hair better in it's natural state Mary- it's beautiful!
I have not been wearing my cool and casual woven dresses as much this summer, and I had an epiphany as to why: I am having a difficult time getting in and out of the car without flashing everyone, so I am less comfortable running errands in them.

Mary I love your hair curly ^^ I had this hair epiphany years ago, and it has never let me down. I get compliments on my curls all the time, even though I personally find them unruly and very RATE

My recent epiphany, which was more of me being slow and not noticing because it started in like March: I'm totally over bootcut jeans. I like skinnies, straight leg, wide leg, and flared. But standard bootcut jeans? Won't have a place again in my wardrobe for a long time. I've kept only 2 pairs and the openings are wide enough that they're more flared than bootcut. And I don't miss them one bit!

My latest style epiphany is I make bad purchase decisions when it comes to summer clothes. I am trying to work through this. I can already isolate a couple of reasons.

Mine is that I need to go back to the bob. I've been growing my hair out and it's now a couple inches past my shoulders, and I can't stand it! I scheduled an appointment for next Tuesday and I'm SO excited!
