I actually really like her newsletter a lot. I look forward to it every week. I haven't looked at it this week in depth yet but at first glance I thought it was great.

As usual, I'm the last one to the party. Why is Gwyneth Paltrow doing this? Just for fun? To reach her fans? I just don't get it!~ but it looks liek a good read. Thanks for sharing!

Well, I'm not a great Gwyneth fan, but her newsletter Goop can be fun to read. She's said that she feels she's lucky that, as a wealthy celeb, she has access to all sorts of stuff that other people don't: personal trainers, stylists, chefs, heaps of travel, etc. So, she says she's writing a newsletter just to share the cool things she sees and hears and learns. Some think she's trying to be the next Martha Stewart but I think she's just like so many women who start blogs or newsletters just because they enjoy it. Who can know for sure!?

I'm too messy for a LWD. I'd have ink stains and tomato sauce all over it within hours, and spend a fortune on dry-cleaning bills. : )

I know we're not big celeb hounds here at YLF, but I do think Gwyneth is a very style -savvy woman and I enjoy seeing her perspective on fashion... even though she's an actress : )

One thing she got wrong is the price of the Jbrand cargos, more like $230.

I'll be honest though...I'm not a fan of the goop. I guess I just find it to be a little pretentious. Like you said, Mac, no one knows exactly what her motives are - maybe she's just trying to be helpful! But when you give unsolicited advice to the masses, you're gonna have some haters!

Yeah, I try to put a positive spin on Goop, but I definitely have some negative opinions, too, that I don't mention here : ) YLF is such a happy, pleasant place that I don't want to dump my cynical comments here (but trust me, they're alive and well in my head).

Still - love it or hate it, I thought I'd link to the fashion Goop stuff just in case others were interested.

She has great exemples of transitioning dresses from summer to fall.
She has posted a neutral dress of H&M so gorgeous... I have to go to H&M quickly!

Great video - it's fun to hear them mention JCrew, tailoring, a tonal pallete (right up my tonal alley), etc. I think I can pass on the feathers and the wild & wacky shoes trend.

I do wonder about people who fear to wear last year's dress until they 'update' it. The challenge really comes with how to wear that 5-10 year old dress and make it look fresh!

One question about this year's big 'leopard' trend: shouldn't an outfit be limited to about ONE leopard item at a time (unless the second one is a teeny amount)? Sort of like a stud limit, or a zipper limit??
