So I went out with the widower last night. We met a restaurant for dinner before the Neko Case concert. He is adventurous when it comes to food, yay. I even talked him into trying the caviar pie. He did say he not really into wine, but he liked the wine I chose (an unoaked Chardonnay from Oregon). He listens to NPR, yay. We split the tab.
He's much older than I expected though, he's 50.
He's a train engineer for Amtrak, and his schedule is a bit wonky. But he understands difficult hours.
The concert was good, but I bailed at 9:45 pm because I had to work today and I'm on call tonight. He was understanding about me leaving early. I tried to be polite and leave between songs when the band was having extended banter and changing guitars.
We have tentative plans for happy hour on Friday, but that depends on his work schedule. Won't know if it going to happen until that afternoon. So I'll dress planning to go out.
