I work about 10 minutes away from a Winner’s so on my lunch break I nipped there to return the red pants (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ak-syc-for). When I tried on the pants at the store last night, I didn’t get that “I love these” reaction – my gut did not tell me these were right. But I wanted to make them right so bought them and thankfully all of you reminded me they were not. So back they went.
While there at lunch time, I did find a flowy navy & creampolka dot blouse and tried it on. I got the “I love this” gut reaction. I texted my son and asked him what he thought since he had bought the pants for me for Mother’s Day. He said to get the blouse and he can hardly wait to see me in it. So I did (pics coming later – at work now).
Now this blouse is somewhat of a departure for me style wise and some may not think it’s the right thing for me but I had a complete gut reaction to it and love it.
Clearly I need to trust my gut more – if I’m that unsure about an item, then I shouldn't really buy it. Being unsure because it’s a different look for me is one thing (like the slouchy trousers) but being unsure about whether or not it fits (or can be made to fit) should be an indicator it’s not right. I don't include hemming or a wee nip at the waist in this category.
So what about you? Do you trust and listen to your gut?
P.S. This is the style of top I bought but with cream background and navy polka dots - the top is lined but the sleeves are sheer.
