You won't believe this. I wore my new red sandals to work for 2 days in a row. The first day, everything was fine. Yesterday, when I wore them again, I wore them with my white embroidered jeans, and a little bit of the red dye from the shoes rubbed off onto my pants! Thank goodness I was able to wash that color out. Those are such great jeans.

Maybe a coat of clear polish or a water-proofing spray on the red would help protect your clothes. Glad to hear the white jeans were saved.

Oh, I believe. Red is such a nasty color. As soon as it can, it transfers onto everything. You must wear cropped pants with those sandals!

what about your feet? I hate when color of the shoes transfers on my feet, which have happened to me with couple of shoes and especially summer ones that are worn on bare feet,

I wonder why the color didn't rub off on my feet or on the long pants I wore the first time. It just had to rub off on my favorite pair of pants.

Glad the jeans weren't ruined. Maybe if you buff the sandals really well the colour may stay put.

I read online that you can use clear polish, Vasoline or hair spray. I think I'll try the polish, as I have it on hand and am not sure I like the idea of using Vasoline or hair spray.

Oh, were these the Danksos? I bought those as well but haven't worn them yet... on the other hand I don't own any long white pants so I should be ok.

Yes, they're the Danskos, and the first time in ages that any type of dye has ever rubbed off on anything. The first and last time that happened was over 30 years ago, when I bought a pair of blue suede Earth shoes.

I am glad you got it out and had a similar instance recently when my dark denim ankle jeans bled on my purse that rubbed against them. It was raw leather (and it was red and the damned ink wouldn't come out. Grrr to items that bleed!

Thanks, everyone. I'm glad I mentioned it, as Diana has these exact same shoes. I'm most definitely going to polish them before wearing them again, and they are never again going to be worn with long pants. I have plenty of cropped pants they'll look fine with.

A bit late but I am glad you were able to rescue your pants. I have run into several suede shoes that run. First was a Munro cage sandal, then a pretty two color Mephisto sneaker, then some lovely ankle tie sandals from PG, both in red and in black. I was lucky to notice on time and returned all of those. One has to be extra careful with suede shoes as many stain your feet and pants and that happens even in higher end brands. They must all be cutting corners in the processing of the suede.

Yes, suede is problematic. I didn't expect this out of regular leather, though, and it's not like these are cheap shoes.
