Gudrun Sjoden: anyone shop it?

I was enticed onto this site by a Facebook link and am kind of in love with the Swedish/Indian combinations. The prices are not terrible. Does anyone have experience with this brand? Some of it reminds me of Peruvian Connection, which I also like.

I remember an article on this store when they opened one in New York--maybe a couple of years ago? It sounded intriguing and very colorful, but I've not shopped it.

I quite like the idea of their clothes, but I would prefer to size down for a more fitted look and I'm already sized out of my true size! (Size S = 6-8, I'm a 0-2.)

It's sort of a Eileen Fisher/Hanna Anderson/Anthro mashup, isn't it? I love the stripes, Isabel! And I just ordered a couple of the tunic tops and will report back - sizing does look big.

She does some fantastic colour mixing but I always find her fabrics can be stiff/heavy & the cuts are boxy on my large bust & short waist. Having said that I have a cotton tank top that must be about 8 years old & the fabric is even better than when I first bought it

I've been reading about lagenlook to get some sewing inspiration, and I fell in love wih another Swedish company: Ewa i Walla. So much perfect country mouse styling!!! Now that I'm learning to sew, I'm trying to figure out where the line is between quirky outfit and costume...I'd rather figure it out before spending the time and energy sewing but suspect I'll have to wait until I can wear a piece and gauge my feeings.

Anyway, Gudrun Johnston is a bit too saturated for my tastes, but I love looking at her clothes, even if I wouldn't wear them.

I've never looked at her stuff but I like some of the pieces! I'd style them differently though, with significantly more hard edge.

I wonder though, given that this is a Swedish company, the pieces will be cut for tall women. That's been my experience with other Scandinavian brands (like marimekko, for ex.)
