Groupon coat deal - good?

Hi everyone!

Groupon has a deal today for Kenneth Cole women's hooded Outerwear. They are hip-length and mid-thigh length down-filled coats with detachable hoods.

They say the list price is $220, and they are selling for $55 and $69 respectively.

Does anyone have experience with these coats? Is this a good deal? I am in desperate need of a good coat that actually fits me. And should I get the long or short one? I mostly wear jeans and flats these days.

Sorry, no experience with these coats, but I just love the short red one. I think it would be great with jeans!

I have a Kenneth Cole chocolate brown down jacket. It is hip length and comes with a detachable hood with faux fur around it. It is a medium which is my normal size. It is roomy but not overlarge and I can get a sweater under it. I have had it about 2 years so an older model. It is more similar to the short red one but does not have the waist inner belt. It is fabulous quality, very warm but soft. It does not get much wear because I struggle with brown in my cool tone wardrobe. I would say if you are mostly casual these days the short red would be lovely and a great boost of colour on these winter weary days!

It definitely seems like a good deal. I just want to make sure I won't end up with a cheaply made and/or cheap-looking jacket. I'm really not familiar with Kenneth Cole items.

The coat is available only in black, but the jacket is available in black, scarlet, violet or white. I'm leaning toward the white. I've never had a white jacket before and it just seems so.... happy.

Glory - thanks for the sizing info. I always vacillate between getting a medium or a large for tops. Based on the sizing chart I could probably use either, but I already have 3 coats that are a wee bit too small, so I think I would go with the large.

Oh! I just noticed that they have free shipping and free returns. Boom! I'll order both sizes and make a decision.

I'm not familiar with their puffer styles (since I don't wear puffers) but I like Kenneth Cole coats a lot. The Kenneth Cole New York line is better made and more expensive than the Reaction line. My black wool coat is a Kenneth Cole New York and it is very warm and well made.

Anyway, especially if it is the NY line and not Reaction, I think that is a fantastic price!

ETA: They are true to size for me. At least the coats I've tried are designed with a bit of extra room to allow layering, so I didn't have to size up.

I have a Kenneth Cole New York trench coat that I love. I have about three or four trench coats, and the KC New York is well-made, and just a little bit more stylish than my other jackets. Love that thing.

I don't think you will be disappointed with the brand.

Like you, I veer between a large or medium in tops and coats - I have a size large in the KC trench coat and it works well. Never too big, but also not too small either. (my weight tends to fluctuate a bit). By the way, some of my friends/family seem to think I have smaller shoulders, and this coat fits beautifully in the shoulder area (a lot don't - one of my trouble spots is tailored jackets/coats being too big in the shoulder area).

Coats need to be tried on. Unless they are free shipping and free returns, I would hold off!

It is indeed free shipping and free returns, so I took the plunge and ordered the shorter jacket in white in both medium and large. I'm nearly giddy over the idea of having a coat that actually fits me and isn't 100 years old!

I couldn't find any information about whether it's KC New York or Reaction.
