Grey vs Camel Peacoat?

I'm looking to buy a peacoat (already have a black one), and I'm on the fence about buying a grey one or a camel one. Which colour would be more versatile? I'm looking for one that I can wear everyday, but can still translate well to an evening out.

Yikes, that's a tricky one. What colours do you wear most frequently in autumn/winter? Are the lengths the same or different? More information please!

The grey and camel are both fantastic neutrals! I can see the grey as part of a minimalist chic outfit with a black, full skirt, black turtle neck and brown knee high boots. If you prefer your tops to have jewel tones then I think the camel could work really well! Let us know what you decide!

Gosh, even knowing the shades you like wearing makes it still a little tricky. You would definitely be emphasising your cooler toned shades if you went with the grey. Camel though, would be quite rich looking next to emerald or purple for instance. I would be stating the obvious in saying I think grey may be more suited as an evening topper perhaps?

Think about potential outfit combinations and find out the coat colour that would provide the highest number of possibles. Get your clothes out on the bed and make notes of day and evening combos, then assess how camel and grey would play with those combos.

Since you already have black, I say go with carmel. The color is very versatile and goes with just about everything.

I think camel would be much more versatile. Having a wardrobe of white, black, and red, the addition of camel made a big difference in how I looked and how I felt. It was like having a whole new exciting identity.

Another vote for camel, since you already have black. If this would be your one and only I'd go for grey. I love that shade of camel.

My only caution about camel is that it can be very hard to wear. For me, depending on whether it has more pinky tones or more yellow, it can be deathly. It can also be fabulous (search out some old posts from our Greenglove, who wears camel particularly well).

How does your coloring do with beiges?

I agree with April's comment - I would go with what works for your skintone (cool vs. warm) as either would look great with the other colors in your wardrobe that you've described.

Don't think you can go wrong either way though!

I agree that it depends on your skin tone and whether the other colors you mentioned are more cool or warm toned. I do think the grey is light enough that buying it wouldn't be duplicating with black.

My only hesitation about camel is that it can look dirty very quickly, and when/if the cuffs etc. get threadbare it can be quite obvious.

My skin tone is fairly neutral, but I tend to wear warmer tones a lot more. I'm probably going to go with the camel - it's new and exciting for me!

Why are you limited to camel or grey? Why not blush? Or fushia?

Camel is soooo hard to keep clean (maybe just me?), but if you can do it, and are sold on grey or camel, I would go with camel.

As for me, camel is a requiring choice, though grey seems a bit dull. Nonetheless, if you're thing of everyday outfits, then grey is a choice. To make it fabulously looking, if the evening event is on agenda, for instance, add some accessorizes, jewelry or smth alike. I believe, even the simpliest wear might be sparled with a proper framing.
