Grey Leather Jacket - Opinions Please?

I was at Nordies today, and I asked them to hold this gray leather jacket for me. It looked really nice on - the fit was good, but I'm hesitating about gray leather. On the one hand, it's a very pretty, soft color, and might be a nice change of pace for me from black. (Sorry no pics wearing it - I didn't have my camera with me.)

(I'm still searching for a killer black leather jacket, and I know this will not take the place of that.)

It's the color from the first picture, but the style from the second.

Can you have them altered, or do they fold back underneath the lining nicely ?

Hmmm ... there are zippers on the sleeves. Might be a problem to alter.

Unzip the zippers and fold them back I do this with mine though I have the opposite problem as I have gorilla arms!! I love grey it is my favourite neutral, softer than black x

Oh, I really like it too. I agree that the gray is dark and classic enough that it won't get dated. I think gray leather is around for good.

Gray is great for you, because you can wear it *with* your black (whereas if you got a black jacket you might be hesitant to wear it with black pants or a black top).

I really like that color of grey. It will go so well with your black but still keep the outfit low contrast.

Me too, I love the color. Grey is softer than black but will still work with what you have. And think of all the beautiful colored scarves you can wear!

Oooh! Grey is my favorite leather with other black clothing I like low contrast - I feel more sophisticated I think!

I checked into shortening zippered leather sleeves and around me it was $40. (I didn't like my jacket enough to do it though. . . I just consigned it away)

Well, I decided against it. When I tried it on again today, I didn't really love it. I'm not completely sure why. It felt a bit too sporty or something - either the color or the drawstring collar - I'm not exactly sure.

Maybe I'd prefer black after all. Thanks for all the opinions. I just need to keep looking.

Tarzy did you try the black Bernardo scuba zip like I got. Angi thought it was killer x2. I think it is at the rack now. It also comes in petite and the sleeves were perfect. It was my 3rd try on the perfect leather jacket. If you need any sku numbers I will be happy to get them for you. I think it was on sale for $159.00.

Renee - Thanks! I looked for that one, because it IS killer on you - but they didn't have that style at my Nordstrom's. I should check the Rack - but I'm afraid to go out again and face all the holiday shoppers! I went very early this morning, and by the time I came home traffic was already crazy. Maybe I can get over there early tomorrow morning.

Thanks, Renee! That's so sweet of you. I would need a regular size M, I think. That's what I tried in the other style, and it seemed to fit well. I'll let you know if I can't make it over to the Rack in the next few days. Thanks again!

Lovely, sexy style . . . very urban and chic. And the gray color would look fabulous on you. You can get bold and wear purples and turquoises with that gray, or all black with a colorful scarf wrapped around your neck. You can dress it up or wear it with jeans and heels. It's versatile and going to add panache to your wardrobe. :o)

@tarzy, i think you'd look fab in it. AND no need to go out...online is fiiiinnnne....

other bernardo options. check out the seamed lambskin scuba.

Tara, looking back at your WIWs, I suspect a warmer colour (like your boots, but darker) might work better for you? FWIW

... or maybe it's not "your" grey? Or maybe grey isn't "your" neutral? Dare to try on light browns and camels, or even reds... red can be surprisingly versatile.
