I’ve had it my mind to get a refined heeled pair of grey booties to reduce my addiction to black footwear. Neutral but lighter, you know? I’ve also thought about chocolate brown, but haven’t dug into that one yet. Grey is a bit more seamless with my wardrobe. I have grey lug sole boots which I love but sometimes would like a more streamlined, slightly dressier profile.
Both of these pairs are Calvin Klein, both from the Rack so very reasonably priced.
Pics 1-4 are a stretchy knit material sock boot kind of construction. Pull on with no zips but easy enough. I love the ankle fit of these.
Pics 5-8 are a suede bootie with zippers. Same heel height as others, but the shaft is a good 1.5” shorter. Not exactly a flower pot effect, but not that really slim fit on the ankle that a sock boot gives.
The dilemma is that I like the sock boot fit and aesthetic. A little more casual (but will it date quicker? Is it already dating??). But…the suede for some reason is a bit more comfortable. The downside of suede of course is that it’s more delicate. That covered heel makes me a little nervous.
Any thoughts or impressions? I’m leaning towards spraying the suede ones with protectant and hoping for the best, but I welcome your opinions.
(Trying on with my outfit for the day before I head out the door — wearing the grey lug sole boots to go out.)
