Greg - having problems the last couple of days

Hi Greg - hope you're having a wonderful holiday season and that Angie and Rosie are spoiling you rotten!

I'm having a few issues with the site the last couple of days in that it is very, very slow to load anything and even replying to a thread is extremely slow. It's becoming a bit frustrating.

What's really strange is it's acting that way on both my home computer and my work computer, which are completely different beasts. At home I'm on an iMac running on Windows 7 and at work I'm on a PC running on Windows XP Professional 2002 (I know - ridiculously outdated!). Both use Internet Explorer.

Both computers have been used for YLF for over a year and have been quick to load and respond. This is just a recent issue.

Any advice to speed things up?

I've had slowdowns the past few days, too, but it's inconsistent. Sometimes it works just fine. I am using a Macbook Air.

I am having similar issues too, especially with photos. I cannot seem to open any thumbnails, without an extreme delay. I have a windows PC (Windows 7) an IPad and IPhone - both the latest models. The issue is across the board.

ETA: I have never been able to upload photos from my iPad. Is that a general thing?

I only have issues with photos uploading; I am running Safari on a MacBook Pro.

No problems here but we have extremely fast internet connection. What a drag to have to wait!

First of all, apologies for the slowdown. I know how frustrating that can be.

Angie and I haven't experienced this, and we haven't seen an unusually high traffic load after the last couple of days. This means that the problem might be related to specific users in some way.

Shannon, with your permission I will change your password and log in as you to see whether I can see the issue first hand. Let me know if you're ok with this. I promise not to post anything untoward.

I have a sneaking suspicion it has something to do with the ads that show on the right hand side for me.
