Just wanted to drop a quick note to say hi, and thanks for the packing help- so far so good on the clothing choices.
We have been walking miles and miles, just enjoying the city. Thank goodness for the comfortable shoes I brought- they've been essential. We also got a weekly pass for the Velib: bikes that you can pick up at many stands around the city and then return to any of the other locations city-wide. On Sundays the road along the Seine is closed to cars and is a gorgeous place to ride bikes, rollerblade, or just stroll.
Keeping this fashion related, I've noticed:
Lots of deep red in the window displays, also citron
Studded boots and bags
Short-shorts with ankle booties on the young and thin.
Lots of slouchy pants
Photo printed clothing and scarves everywhere
Amazing, if unwearable, shoes!
I'll try to post the occasional photo of interesting things I see during my stay...

1. Riding bikes along the Seine
2-3 A woman at the phone store where we went to get sim cards and data packages for our ipads. She was wearing sequinned black short-shorts, a white tee, a tux type jacket, studded ankle booties. (This was at noon, btw- not an evening look.)
4. A studded bag
5. Lots of red, and what my husband called "diaper pants"
6. Dress with photo print
7. HEELS!
(sorry for the bad reflections- it's hard to get a good picture of a shop window.)
