Hi, all. Yeesh, I feel kind of embarrassed bursting in here to post with such a long absence here. I do try and peek in and even comment here and there, but I have been pretty busy these past months, as well as sartorially depressed--hopefully I will push myself past that this summer; it's creating a downward spiral...though outside of fashion, I've mostly been enjoying life and moving forward. I do miss all of you a lot! I think about Shoptoberfest or our Boston get-togethers, NYC, etc. and get nostalgic.
I seem to be better at keeping up with people on Facebook. If you ever want to friend me there, let me know.
Anyhow, wanted to just let everyone know I'm happy because I've been working at my photography and that's culminated in a group exhibition whose opening reception will be taking place in a South End art gallery next week, June 5th. A year ago I would not have expected it. The quality of work of the five photographers is really high level and we (particularly I) have been working doggedly to promote it. The gallery is a small operation so we are all hands-on, helping out. As you might imagine, considering the affiliation with the gallery-slash-tango studio, the theme of the show is Argentine Tango.
I've also been taking classes locally and have really been taken by portrait photography. Something about the human face is so compelling to me, and I loved developing my skills in working with the subject. It's something I would seriously consider doing as a business once my skills are consistent. I'm including some of my exhibition work, as well as a few class portraits I took of models and friends.
If there is anyone local/visiting who'd like to drop in for the show (which takes place during First Friday, so there's a ton of stuff to see), please let me know. I would be delighted to see you before our next, yet unscheduled Boston YLF meetup : )
Hope you're all well!
Besos y abrazos (kisses and hugs)
