I bought this dress last week as I need a versatile black dress for work. It fit perfectly and needed no tailoring fixes, which is unusual, particularly as I am slightly shortwaisted and shop with a shopper/tailor who has an eagle eye. It works with several jackets, cardigans, bags, shoes, jewelry and belts and I have already worn it to work twice accessorized differently both times. The fabric is slightly textured and has a good substantial weight. The dress is fully lined. If anyone is looking for such an item, I can recommend this LBD highly. I would love another with long sleeves for fall and winter.
To tell the truth I was inspired by seeing Ginger Rogers in cute black dresses with white collars and cuffs in one movie or other. You know working women in the 30s had one good dress they accessorized different ways. I am very much looking forward to playing this game and getting the most out of the dress by being somewhat parsimonious with my shopping.
I bought 2 other dresses this trip-both knits, one from WHBM and the other a ralph Lauren. They are both very nice, but both needed hem straightening and one required adjusting he fit at the neckline, which makes this dress all the more unusual-the hem falls perfectly all round at the right point for me. I bought the size 14, which is my size, so the dress seems to be true to size as well. Further, the piping at the waist might have been an issue but wasnt. Wearing the correct shapewear makes a difference I am sure. I shopped wearing a full body and hose and took work shoes with me.
