Great sports bra find! Do you have some favorites?

I've spent too many years getting by with the cheap Champion compression bras. I decided to try a few upgraded models and hit the jackpot with this one...

I bought my normal size, and the band is nice and snug, the girls are contained nicely and not a bit of bounce! I bought the purple because it was so much fun, but I'm gonna add the white and black over the next couple of months. The only draw back is that it is not a racerback, so the straps will show under racerback tops, but it is a trade off I"m willing to make. I have yet to find a decently supportive racerback bra.

Just thought I'd share in case anyone else is committing the same compression sports bra sin that I have been committing for years

Those look great, Kim. I love the colors! I finally gave up on the compression bras last year (phew - it was about time!), and ended up with a couple of the moving comfort styles (in fact, one is being advertised up in the right-hand corner of my screen as I type LOL!). Here's to sporting in comfort!

Underwire sports are really the way to go- once you try them you will never go back!

Sarah- which moving comforts do you like? I was looking at those too. I like to have atleast 4 sports bras in my rotation... preferably 5. Yikes, this is going to be a costly year in sports bras for me (not to mention that I am overdue for new shoes)

OMG- I could barely get the band fastened in the back, and it was too high cut in the front for me. Next time I'm in Nordies, I might try the next band size up. Did you size up?

I have the Shock Absorber 4490 (four of them I think) and love it. Works well for running or any other activity.

Dianthus- An email from barenecessities was what got my search started,and I did look at that one, but then went to Nordies for the free shipping and returns.
Is it easy to get on and off with the double hooks in the back? The racerback style does give that a plus... hmmmm... how does the size run?

I haven't had trouble getting it on and off like the ones that don't have the regular bra back. I believe it is only the DD and up sizes that have the extra clip in the middle and it does add support. I bought them in the same size I normally wear but downsized in the band on my regular bras afterward. They still fit me well. Perhaps they are a touch small in the band. My BFF tried one out and she wears a 32G and said it was great for cardio classes.

I like the Nike Strength bra to run in. http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ni.....humbnail=Y I am one of those sizes you don't find in the regular catalogs (30D) so I get by with 32C on this one and use the tightest hook. Luckily, I don't have a large chest to contend with, so the seamfree non chafing aspect is what I like about this one. Oh, and the hook and eyes. I could dislocate a shoulder trying to peel off a sweaty jogbra over my head after a run.

I'm a big fan of Wacoal's underwire sports bra. It really holds you in place for running! Go up one cup size for a good fit.

Kim- it definitely runs tight, and it's very high cut. But that high front provides some serious protection. You have to wear high necked tops with it for sure.

Kim, I have two the FIONA (back closure) and the
JUNO (racerback).

I wear the FIONA the most, and I like it a lot. The girls aren't going anywhere, and it's very comfy. The JUNO is a touch hard to get over my head and fasten (I have very tight shoulders), but it's fine.

My favorites are Moving Comfort Fiona (linked to by sarah above) and Moving Confort Maya http://www.movingcomfort.com/M.....lt,pd.html . Maya bra has an underwire and a high neckline - can be a plus or a minus, depending on what else you wear. Good support and no uniboob with either of those. I use these for long runs, too, including half-marathons (although I have to use a bit of Bodyglide to avoid chafing, overall Fiona bra is pretty soft and does not rub too much).

I've got the Fiona in my Nordies wish list to order in a couple weeks. How do you find the sizing to run? I normally wear a 32DDD/E. Since the Fiona only seems to go to DD, I thought I'd order the 34DD. WHat do you think?

Good question, maybe sarah will know the answer? I normally wear 34D and that's what I got in sports bra, too.

My holy grail sports bra is the Freya Active Underwire. It does give a pointy profile, but boy does it support!

For the less endowed, I highly recommend the Moving Comfort Alexis. It has a touch of moisture-wicking padding and gives a great silhouette.

That looks like an excellent option, and I'm saving it for future reference! Structurally it looks similar to Lululemon's Ta-Ta Tamer, which is my current favorite. I've also had good experience with the Moving Comfort brand. Soma makes a decent sports bra too.

I had to start using sports bras that come in cup sizes because I have the combination of a small rib cage measurement with a significant cup size, so SML sizing is useless on me.

I just saw that both Fiona and Juno Moving Comfort bras are available on Sierra Trading Post. Fiona is $27 (or $21 if you get an e-mail discount link - I am subscribed to their e-mails and get one of those coupons every 3 weeks or so).
