I just saw this on the Today Show moments ago (excuse the poor photo quality) and loved this idea for reusing patterned nylons and pantyhose!
Cut a hole in a portion of the nylon, grab the stem through it and wrap the pumpkin in your black-patterned nylons. Here's a photo (on left) and Happy Halloween!
