Alright , this fab little find had two strikes against it: 1. I hate this store, and 2. this store is for 30 year olds. Ha. However, on my way into BR to do a return, I walked by RW & Co (Canadian chain of lower-priced office wear for younger women - kind of like your Limited/Express) I spotted these pants on a mannequin. They are fantastic! Ponte fabric, well-made , nice firm wide waist band ,pockets (!!!) and the perfect length for pretty much all of our 4 seasons! Did not try them on when I bought them, and had little faith in them being worthwhile, but was I pleasantly surprised! And the price! Suz and Elizabeth - you both will like these. ( Smittie - not so sure it's your thing. )They are black, and will be almost long enough to meet a mid-shaft boot, never mind your typical tall boot. I plan to wear them with textured or fishnet hose and mid-shaft or high-ankle boots. I bought my usual M.

And for a further pleasant surprise, this asymmetric-closure sweater, which looks like a funky coat over top . Simple silk tank underneath, and I have the perfect work outfit. This sweater rang every alarm bell for me (I won't get into it ) but for the super low price, it's a fun new silhouette. Surprisingly slimming and interesting looking . Who knew??

These finds are so fab! I don't know this store, but these pieces are so elegant and classic with just the right amount of edge. Love this sweater! I don't live in Canada but I visit twice a year so maybe I should put this brand on my radar... or are these not typical of most of their styles?

Both are very interesting pieces. I especially like that sweater. If I saw something like that I would try it on for curiousity sake.

Toban - that was my feeling today too .
K M - these are not quite typically of their assortment , hence my interest Styles are fairly mainstream and office-ish , and fabrics are not always great . You get what you pay for here.

Great finds Lisa. I never look at RW & Co. because their style seems so far from mine (officey like you describe) but of course, there can be gems hiding in there. I like the wide legged pants. They seem perfect for our winters. The cardigan is a great shape.
This is a good reminder for me to take my retail blinders off.

The picture is not the best because I was trying them out and messaging a friend.
RW is great for casual wear but tends to be too cutesy for office wear for the plus 30 at times.
This being said I have also found nice suits there.

It's just the bit of trendy excitement you mentioned you missed last year. The cardi is more of a sweater coat, so you are off the hook....*smiling*

Thanks Angie - you know, years being here and I still buy impusively and emotionally. The sweater is most definitely a coat - and will be worn as such I just realized today though, when I went to wear the culottes, that there is a coat issue I need to resolve. I refuse to buy another coat just for these, so I need to figure out what length will look best and hope I have something . Otherwise, they will have to wait until Spring .

Yeah. I hear you. Clients have generally preferred a knee-length or short coat with culottes. That mid-thigh length is trendy, but not as traditionally flattering.
