I'd seen that Bergner's shoe sale included boat shoes - White Mountain brand, a couple of different materials. The price was about $49, I think, so I thought I'd take a look even though I already ordered and sent back Sperry Topsiders earlier this summer, bad fit, no arch support for expensive shoes.
I had to go to Sears for vacuum cleaner bags and the route was through their shoe department, which I rarely shop in because I feel the styles are usually boring and not that well made. But they had boat shoes, so I stopped to try them on. They were cute, fit fine, and even had arch support! The price on the size I needed was $29.98. The other sizes of the same style (???) were $34.98. Odd, but lucky for me. So I bought them thinking that if Bergner's had better ones, I could return them easily.
Walked down to Bergner's and I swear they were the SAME SHOES except had a leather patch with the brand name on. And for $20 more!
So I got a good deal, cute shoes and happy evening!
