Gray "Sweatshirt" Blazer - YouLookFab Forum

Planning ahead for fall since it's like 100 outside -- I'm calling this a "sweatshirt" blazer only because it is super soft, comfy knit material and it is very casual -- but still gives some shape when worn (fits pretty well). I'd like to try and make myself put this blazer and a very nice (fits a tablet) but never used by me red vintage bag to work for fall.

Main question is rather the red bag is good with the rest of the outfit. I don't know why I have a hard time styling a red bag so I'm working on it.

My life is pretty casual so this is for normal day wear to work at home, go to the grocery, coffee cafe, ranch to visit friends, etc.

Blazer: Lands End (a couple of years ago for $18)
Blouse: Kohls
Purse: Sharif, Made in USA
Boots: Clarks

Edit: One more outfit to include red bag, what do you think?

Gorgeous! I love these kind of rich reds with blues. I think we like a lot of the same colours and combinations. I remember previous photos collages that I also loved for the colour and the textures.

I like the red with variations of grey and blue and deeper red. It is fun as a contrast color with blacks and yellow too once you are used to carrying a red bag. Like the print blouse a lot!

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Lynn and Lynne, thank you for your kind words. Jen, that blazer is so comfortable I think I could go hiking in it. Joy, I do love that bag too and want to put it to use. It works great as a clutch too as the strap easily hides into the pocket.

I know it's not a super adventurous style but I'm still just getting started working on putting true "outfits" together.

Suz, I agree, many of the colors and outfits I've seen you wear are colors and shapes I really love too. I'm going to post another montage today of a military green jacket that I'm considering mixing up with a deep raspberry red top and jeans (again).

Christieanne, thanks for the idea of mixing it with blacks and yellows - I do wear ochre yellows sometimes and will have to remember to try that combination.

Thanks Angie - I'm honored :-). I do have a lot of this combination for fall and it's a nice departure from just wearing so many neutrals. So happy for the YLF inspiration to add more color like this and to experiment with combinations.
