Gray knit skirt

I just bought this Gray knit skirt from the Gap today and would like to hear ideas on what to pair it with. Its a A line skirt that is very chunky. I think it would go well with a nice botton down blouse or something with structure. What other more casual suggestions do people have? My style is usually more casual than not.

I can't see the skirt anywhere, but I'm liking A line skirts with those silky sweatshirts and hip length boxy tops that are around at the moment. With oxfords, too, if you like that look.

Is it around that length on you, or longer? And what is your climate like?

If I were wearing it (in my climate) I'd be pairing with sweater tights, mid calf boots (maybe with fun socks peeking out) and a pullover sweater of some kind, possibly a bit cropped.Maybe with shirttails peeking out. I see it as a casual skirt. I know I would have to do a bit of playing around in the closet to get the proportions right.

Yes the skirt falls right about the same place as the model. I would def be wearing tights and boots otherwise I would freeze. I think I'm going to have to play around and see what looks right. What I think looks cute on someone else might not work for me. The skirt has a thick cable sweater look so I think I can dress it up or down. It was such a cute skirt I just had to buy it.

I have some skirts similar to this, and I like to pair them with sweaters--sometimes longer, fluid ones and sometimes tighter, shorter ones. Like Suz said, you will have to do some playing around to get the proportions right.

As far as tops go, I like the banded bottom knit with the skirt as pictured on the model. Maybe an up scale, mixed media sweatshirt. Remember that navy and brown both look great with black if you want low contrast.
